Re: Martinhoe Cross needs a new home
开云体育Tony - I fully agree with your comment. ?I do not wish to add another project to those working hard to deliver the restoration of the L&B. ?I am offering this layout to some one (or some group) who really wants it and can use it as intended.Regards, Cliff

Re: Martinhoe Cross needs a new home
开云体育? I do not think that this would find the best home with the L&B Trust which already has at least one layout Barnstaple Town in 4mm which is stored in someone’s house for eventual display as it is a scale model of a station that will never be reopened. ?If accepted, this layout would similarly remain in store for a considerable time and deserves a better outcome. ? I am making enquiries in my own club but do not hold out much hope as space again is at a premium. ? Tony S. ? Tony Spencer Club Archivist and 7mm Section rep. Ilford & West Essex MRC 07730 420283

Re: Martinhoe Cross needs a new home
开云体育Thanks very much Cliff.? I actually dug out the article and it was as good as I remembered.? I am very grateful that you clarified the gauge as I don’t think it is very clear from the text and it would have been ‘bugging’ me! ? It’s a shame I haven’t got the space otherwise I would be very tempted. ? I hope it goes to a good home. ? Cheers, Robin ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]

Re: Martinhoe Cross needs a new home
开云体育Good luck Cliff, I’m not interested but I am curious about the gauge.? I recall thinking when I read the Narrow Lines article that the gauge wasn’t very clear.? I think Nick started off with grand plans for 14mm gauge but then opted for something simpler to fit the available space by using Peco track.? However it wasn’t clear if he meant 016.5 track or used Peco track components to build his own 014 track. ? I remember being impressed with the pictures and article. It will make a fine layout for anyone with the space. ? Cheers, ? Robin ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]

Re: Progress on the PLR
Hi Bill. It's basically been in store for nearly 3 years with no progress at all hence the lack of progress reports.
I worked out gradients today and realised it wasn't going to work., i.e. the NG would be too steep on the connecting board and I wouldn't be able to get the SG and NG to the same level at the fiddle yard with practical gradients. I worked out if the long incomplete section was 5cm lower it would work. So i took all the boards off yet again and cut 5cm off the bottom of the staging legs. Tomorrow I'll put them back up and hopefully they can stay there and I can start building the new board.? John |

It's looking good John, just in case it gets hot again, have you made any provisions for aircon or something like that to get rid of any excess heat? Colin? On Sat, 4 Feb 2023 at 17:42, andy binns <binns.andy@...> wrote:

Re: Narrow Gauge & Industrial Railway Modelling REVIEW
开云体育Looks to be another excellent issue.? It will be great to see the story of Dinas Manod.? I was privileged to see the initial model and then the stripped down version but I know David has been adding a lot more to it. ? Well done John and the production team. ? Cheers, ? Robin ? I have just sent Review issue 133 off to the printer for distribution later this month.
