Re: [O-14] Wheels centres?
Thanks Frank and Roy, I enquired about glass-filled nylon, unfortunately the factory making the wheels can only get it in white, but since the prototype had red wheels anyway that shouldn't be a

Re: [O-14] Wheels centres?
Dear Mark, I use polypropylene - this is an extremely stable plastic. It is oil and solvent resistant. It has sufficient flexibility to be made a good 'push fit' into turned tyres and grip onto axles

Re: [O-14] Wheels centres?
Mark, I would forget any styrene containing polymer, long term it will not be oil resistant. The usual polymer used I think by Alan Gibson and Slaters is glass filled nylon. Slaters I think mould

Re: [O-14] BullAnt
Not quite correct - my LISTER uses three 14:1 worm sets, one set drives the layshaft, on which two sets drive the wheels. Total is 196 to 1. At full 12 volts the LISTER has a similar (scale) top speed

Re: [O-14] BullAnt
Charles, I'm thinking in terms of 60:1, Roy Links uses two 12:1 on the layshaft and another on the motor, total reduction 144:1. If say the gears in the bullant train gave 4:1, you would have a total

Frank - If you look at the site there is a 15:1 reduction, although it isn't depicted in the graphic. They also indicate that the optional 1015 motor will provide slower running. Charles
