Re: Mark Clark Wren
开云体育Tim, I bought Mark's last KS Joffre on Saturday. A very nice looking kit, I must say. It is the Brit version rather than strict Decauville, but I think it'll complement my?rpi and Dave Provan carriages very nicely. I rashly bought a sync disc from EDM too, so now I've got to source a suitable sound chip. Any ideas anyone? David H ? To: O14@... From: O14@... Date: Tue, 16 Jun 2015 08:34:31 +0100 Subject: [O14] Modelling News ? I recently?got some loco kits from Mark Clark. Also a
couple of wrightlines wagon kits from ebay. I'll be kit bashing the guards van
and GVT van. Planning on swapping the ends so I have a tool van and then opening
out the end windows so I can model the inside of the brake
van.?
?
I'm still looking for a few more bits and pieces of kit
stock.
?
I can't decide whether to start a model based on the station
layout (two bays, and no run around) at Statfold, or to do something more
ambitious; Iain Rice's plan for Gairloch really appeals to
me.

Hi Gary
Crichel is a very fine layout so I wouldn't worry too much about mentioning it here. Of course you know where there's a good test track for your K1 - double heading with Garratts will deserve another Superpower video. In fact I ran out of rolling stock when I tried testing my K1's haulage limits up the climb recently. Perhaps I need to get building my clay waggons. John -- Sent from my phone with K-9 Mail. |

fit on a bookshelf in your home. Could be any size, but must actually fit on a
shelf. That might be more approachable, I'm guessing most of us have
bookshelves.

Re: Micro-layouts ...
开云体育I've started quite a few (mostly expong entries), O14, 009,
even in the distant past OO and EM.
?
I find trackbuilding in O14 very difficult, so a quickie with
some Peco 009 and a couple of Paul Windle locos will sort out any operational
problems without too much time invested.
?
I seldom finish them, but then that's not always the intention
at the beginning. So unfinished layouts don't bother me in the slightest.
The other great?benefit is that they're table top sized, and can
be stored on-end in a cupboard. I wish I had a train-room!
?
I always enjoy Neil Rushby's layouts. His NG modelling is in
009, and he seldom travels beyond the Corris Model Railway show. But they are
always simple, well thought-out, and beautifully modelled. He's a fairly
prolific blogger - googling?Rushby's Railways will get you
there.

Re: Micro-layouts ...
开云体育I built a 0-9 micro layout that was inside an ikea toy box. It looked ok. It would have been better in 0-14. In my book it was let down by the use of 009 point work. Re: Mark Clark Wren
I too bought a Wren from Mark on Saturday on a whim!! What a little beauty - well done Mark. I felt my modelling was stagnating and I have been spending the late evenings asleep in front of the tele; but not since Saturday!
So far we have a basic chassis block and some lovely marine type rods. Should get the hornblocks and cylinders done tonight. The etchings are crisp and fit. The lost wax castings are clean and beautifully moulded and the instructions clear with great diagrams. A thumbs up to Locosnstuff. Paul |

Hi everyone,
?
OK – I was getting a bit bored with some of my other modelling projects,
and needed some respite, so decided to start a micro layout. (I am not sure why
everyone in narrow gauge will never be happy until they build a micro layout –
however this seems to the way things happen?)
?
It is on the footprint of an A3 piece of paper, and the (“layout” if that
is what its referred to?) is named “A3014”.
?
It is now in the advanced scenery stage. I will post some pictures when it
is complete.

Cheers
