Re: FR 7mm scale rolling stock availability?

Chris,

?

If all that stops Mercian supplying is wheels, AFAIK they use Alan Gibson wheels. Colin Seymour who has AG now is still working, I spoke to him yesterday. One thing to watch, AG do their wheels on 26.5 mm standard axles but also on 24.5.? 14mm gauge on the longer axles looks odd, the shorter axles, still a bit long for 14mm gauge look better but it will depend on what the kit is designed to take.

?

Association white metal bogies are I think based on FR practice.

Subject: [o14] FR 7mm scale rolling stock availability?

?

I'm using lockdown for one of my irregular and sporadic attempts to get back into some Proper Modelling in O14 and make some progress with a couple of small projects. I'm not too familiar with what's around in 7mm at present, so can anyone confirm that I'm right in thinking the only FR rolling stock available is as below?

  • Port Wynnstay/Phil Traxson resin cast range
  • 7mm NGA stale waggons
  • Worsley Works carriage etches
  • Mercian Models (various, but some seem to be marked unavailable to wheel supply problems)

Thanks in advance,

Chris
