Gary,
Adjust your radios RF Gain control down so the rx light only flashes once in an awhile, while still responding to received tones. ?Mine is usually adjusted so the S meter reads about an S3 setting, oh I almost forgot, make sure the AM/FM button is set to AM!
The FM setting is much more sensitive, try using FM setting with CD set to software,
But I prefer the AM mode with CD set to internal, YMMV!

Gary,?
CD Software works great. ?We use this on VHF/UHF packet with the squelch wide open. ?Perfect for hearing weak signals. ?

Try changing the CD (Carrier Detect) to software, that should sort the blinking out.
cmd: CD software/software

Dumb question here, I have running station on NET 105, but am curious as to the "Rcv" LED? on my KAM. It blinks frequently even with the lack of packet signals, so I assume it is just responding to noise. With the "Calibrate" command, I can set TX level, etc, but not for RX.
I've toyed with the gain and similar without success. Am I trying to solve a problem that does not exist? Any suggestions?
