Re: FLAMP won't transmit file
开云体育Hi Neil I remember this problem to do with flamp 2.2.13 maybe mid last year. Something about a wrong XML response or timing issue? Solved in my case at the time by going back to 2.2.12.4, but now with 2.2.14 and later fldigi alphas (using 4.2.06.24) it all works fine. There may have also been part of the fix in an early 4.2.06.alpha. 24 seems quite bullet-proof so maybe try that along with flamp 2.2.14? Pretty sure it was discussed in this group July 2024 Cheers Bob VK2YQA On 10/3/25 13:59, Neil Preston W0NRP

FLAMP won't transmit file
Lately I have been having recurrent problems getting FLAMP to transmit a file.?
I load the file into the transmit pane using either DnD or the Add button. Verify the speed, compression and other functions. Press XMIT..........?? Nothing happens.
This happens with the current version and the previous version. It seems to be intermittent, but once it occurs it will not work again during the session. I think that I can trigger it if I cancel a transmission, but most of the time that has not happened. Using FLDigi v4.2.06 and flamp 2.2.13 on a Win11 machine.
Sorry I don't have more specifics, but if I find any consistent causes I will update. Any ideas what is happening? It's really frustrating... ?

audio spectrum of THOR32 sent by W3JFS on CCAR UHF net
*On tonight's CCAR UHF FM net? (446.525) the net control took checkins with THOR32*
*I don't think I've ever seen THOR32 on FM nets (18 tones sent one at a time at 32 baud) * *It was fast, clean, and sounded great.* *Here is the AUDIO spectrum? (not the RF spectrum) captured by the FLDIGI Audio Spectrum option* *I am receiving this at? 9600 baud? (pin 4 on the 6 pin MINI DIN data port) or wide flat audio * *and sound card is a? Re: how good is a rain gutter antenna
The joints at elbows, etc. are usually secured with a single sheet metal screw.? Not a very good RF bonding, especially after a few years of rain.? There is a strong possibility of arcing at the joint.? Probably a good way to discourage TV viewing by your neighbors??,? The best antenna?for low noise reception will be a magnetic loop.? I have a homebrew 6 foot diameter loop made from copper pipe, tunable from 40 to 15 meters using a vacuum variable, 100 pf pullout from a Russian radar system.? Suggest? you check these out: 73, David On Tue, Mar 4, 2025 at 8:55?AM K3EUI Barry via <k3euibarry=[email protected]> wrote:

? ?? RAIN? GUTTER? ANTENNA?? on upper HF bands
I've been experimenting with a variety of HF
antennas here at my new QTH at Crosslands Retirement Community
in Kennett Square, PA. I have some space limitations, but live on the first floor of a two-story apartment building. Lots of RFI from everywhere inside the
building? - S9 on 80m and 40m, less noise on 20 and 10m.
I have a? 140 ft end-fed wire with a 49:1 UNUN? which tunes up easily on 80/40/20m? and not so well on 17m/15m/10m. This end-fed is horizontal, low to the ground (winds among trees) and is good for high-angle NVIS radiation on 80/40m. I use it on the PA NBEMS net (3583 kHz) and on
the Mid-Atlantic NBEMS net (7068 kHz)
I'd like to get up something with a? low-angle? signal for DX on? 20/17/10m bands.?? But can I keep any HF antenna "hidden"?
What I am now trying is the aluminum? rain gutter? for our building, vertical for about 20 ft, makes a right angle turn and runs horizontally for about 20 ft. The coax attaches at the base of the gutter,
near ground, to a 9:1 UNUN with a sheet metal screw into the
gutter for a decent electrical connection.
So overall, about 40 ft of thick (painted) aluminum gutter radiating element - in the shape of an inverted? L and? not resonant on any ham band. Lowest SWR around? 16 MHz.? It looks like it
might work out on the 30m band as well (10.1 MHz). I have a Palomar Engineering? (500W rating)? 9:1? UNUN on? 50 ft RG8X? coax into the shack (closet). I have one counterpoise wire about 20 ft long attached to the UNUN?? ground terminal. Then a good manual tuner in the shack to an HF
rig for very low SWR on any band.
Here is what I see on my Nano VNA from 10 - 30 MHz: ? not bad SWR? (under 2.5:1) ? in the shack on 20/17/15/10 meters. I'll give it a try over the next few weeks and see if the local noise is more/less on these bands, compared to my 140 ft end-fed.
I'm often running QRP on these bands, CW and
digi modes only.

Re: Silicon Labs CP210x not creating CODEC, IC-7300, IC-9700
开云体育I have a (3) Linux Ubuntu systems.? Raspberry Pi 400, older Dell i7, Older HP tower with Ubuntu server (still not setup). I love Linux. The windows machine has the ability (with much gnashing of teeth) to run everything.? Winlink, WFView, N1MM, N3FJP all require winders, unfortunately. The sooner the world discovers Linux the better. Software installation could be simpler for the not so talented. Thanks, Stan W8SRD On 2/15/2025 6:13 AM, Dave_G0WBX via

开云体育Windows also now regards just about all audio input devices as "Microphones", and will disable them during an update, on "Security/Privacy" grounds!. That causes all sorts of corporate grief with online MS "Teams" meetings etc, where the users know little of what goes on, and their corporate IT types just dance to the MS tune. Check your privacy settings, before allowing, and after an
update. Glad I use Linux these days. Each to their own. Dave G0WBX.

Re: Silicon Labs CP210x not creating CODEC, IC-7300, IC-9700
开云体育Just a thought Stan. I have no direct experience of this. I remember that there was the need/warning to install the Icom USB/Codec driver before hot plugging the radio. Perhaps the W11 "migration" has negated the result of that. Just a guess, but suggest removing/uninstalling the device (from device manager), unplug the radios, remove the Icom driver from program add/remove, hard reboot the PC, then reinstall the Icom driver with a fresh download from their site. Then see if that clears the problem after hot plugging the radios. The device enumeration may then reorder things so fldigi/flrig may need port adjustment. Silicon Labs CP210x not creating CODEC, IC-7300, IC-9700
Hi all,
Since 2 days ago, FLDigi does not find the codec's for my radios. I'm connected to IC-9700 & IC-7300 via USB and the internal sound card of the radio's.? This has been working for better than a year until today. I will attach a document (.DOCX) with events and screen shots.
?
The best I can figure is that MickeySoft Winders 11 did an update.

mfsk question
Is anyone noticing that the mfsk modes are now "missing" the LOWEST tone at the start of every transmission?
?
I am not referring to the "preamble" tone (option) at 1500 Hz, and am not referring to the TXID signal.
?
At the start of every MFSK mode, after the TXID tones end, the lowest of the 16 MFSK tones is sent for about 1/5th second, to identify the lowest pitch tone.
Then the data stream begins, using all 16 MFSK tones.
?
I have been seeing this initial LOW tone on the waterfall for years with MFSK? and hearing this, but not with the newest FLDIGI 4.2.06 version. ?
The LOWEST tone is now missing.
?
However, I do hear it again on the alpha? Fldigi 4.2.06.21
Now that is strange!
?
Please pay attention and let me know if you also observe this new situation: report to ?k3euibarry@...
