We started selling SAA2 with N-type RF connector and 4-inch display

There is no innovation, just a new shell.
Since this group has been dissatisfied with the SMA connector and the 2.8-inch display, we installed the N-type RF connector and the 4-inch LCD on the original SAA2 and fixed it with a metal shell. The increase in cost mainly comes from N-type connectors and radio frequency cables containing N-type connectors. In order to avoid confusion with the next-generation products that may appear, we temporarily call it SAA-2N.
The N-type connector is very heavy, and the total shipment is 1kg. The logistics company may need to charge a logistics fee of 1.5kg, so the logistics cost is much higher. We are waiting for the MSDS report of the new battery. After the MSDS test is completed, we will provide DHL shipping methods.

As some users cannot complete payment in alibaba, we have activated aliexpress and support paypal payment.

N-connector? How many did not like the SMA connector?
I do prefer the SMA connector. I have been working pro doing type approval for more than 30 years and when it comes
to quality connectors for high frequencies, we always used the SMA connector.
Hope we still can get a version with the SMA connector, please.

A good option. But it was necessary to make a variant with an adapter, since not everyone needs an N-connector and the board itself has little rigidity.
Time will tell.

As far as I know the SMA connector is better up into the several GHZ range than the N-Type ?

But yes the N-Type is GHz good.

N-type allow 11 GHz
Also more durable

PS for my work better use N-type connectors, all devices have it, also all my good calibration kits for N-type

Thinking that I'd prefer the display the other way around for field work...that is, the display is upside down in one of the images where the N fittings are at the top.

Fred,
Only the AliExpress link supports direct Paypal payment. I just pre-ordered one from there and it works fine. The 4'' display and re-location of the buttons were the main incentives for me. Like DiSlord, most of my other equipment has type N connectors and I have a lot of high quality cables with type N connectors. It will be interesting to see how good the type N standards are. hugen is usually pretty good with his sources.

The photos show the Saa-2N is packaged in a metal case with retaining nuts on the type N connectors, so there should be little stress on the pcb connection. Only time will tell.

I'll donate my 2.8" SAA-2 to one of my ham club members.

Firmware allow rotate display
How is that accessed, please. I don't recall seeing a menu option...?

Notes for others...
the PayPal method is not shown until you get to step 2
only Estimated Delivery on 10/13 Shipping: US $21.98 AliExpress Standard Shipping is available

so you must wait to order if you want DHL...and even then, it might still be Oct...?

Decent N connectors work to at least 18 GHz. My 18 GH HP 85054B N cal kit
is N connectors.

They female inners are slotless, but cheaper connectors with 4 or 6 slots
work to 18 GHz to. In fact, they work above 18 GHz, but I don¡¯t know how
high. My HP 22 GHz spectrum analyzer uses N, but my HP 20 GHz VNA uses 3.5
mm.

Also the store does not list any products, all are hidden for some reason.
I presume that is intentional but just in case ...

That¡¯s a MUCH nicer product - it solves the problems that I most disliked
about my early NanoVNA - the SMA connectors and screen size.

You mentioned no innovation. What innovations are planned? Will newer
models have N connectors too?

Herb,

I bet it was the fact that I had not selected air express shipment at that point. ???

Seems like things with batteries in them cannot go surface shipment.

I think I will wait a while to put my name on the list.

Glen,
I'm not familiar with the battery shipment requirements. hugen said he was waiting for the MDS (material data safety) report on the battery to be completed before he could start shipment. I assume that is why some sellers cannot enclose a battery in their shipments. 3000mA is a whopper.

Maybe once the MDS report is complete surface shipment is allowed ?? I didn't mind paying extra for air express shipment because my past purchases from hugen have been received in a little over 2 weeks, once shipped, using that method.
