I can't find that kind of SMA connector (both inner and outer thread), although I'm interested to know more about its performance, etc. the other picture showed an sacrificial adapter screwed into it. So it's like the 2.92mm plug on the front of some test equipment, intended to have a jack-jack barrel installed in it. |
Where can we find information about this VNA? When will it be available and what is the target price?

Is it unusual for a SMA to have outer thread and inner pin?Pretty much, unless it's a Reverse Polarity SMA (used for Part 15 wireless devices to meet the FCC requirement for a "not readily available connector", which was true 15 years ago). There's also an air dielectric 2.92mm (aka K connector), with the jack in the middle and nothing around it. Easy to damage. Intermateable with an SMA (as long as your SMA plug is in good condition). But the 2.92 has a smaller distance between center and shield, usually. Maybe it's just the camera angle. |
NO, it is a variant called SMA-RP. The RP is Reversed Polarity, Male and Female connections are reversed. Often used on WiFi applications. Many new builders order the wrong type not knowing about the difference until they receive it.

Unusual, yes, but a recognised variant, nonetheless.

For nanorfe design try asking in the official V2 list,

higher chance of getting a response. Hugen produced 2 port VNA (based on this design ) should be out soon (a couple of people already got the prototypes for testing). On Fri, 5 Mar 2021 at 17:38, Predrag Pavo?evi? <ppavosevic@...> wrote:
Hello Gabriel, |
Will the new models be capable of measuring crystal responses ?
Quote : Note: All V2 versions switch on and off the test signal rapidly and can not measure crystals or be used as a signal generator. Source : As a diy hamradio operator it's not mandatory, but a very nice to have. 73 to all and stay safe. Lex PH2LB |
