Using the H4 as a Signal generator with

Hello

I am looking to use my H4 to generate a signal on HF at -73db and -70db to do some calibrations after a firmware update on a my receiver.

Some Nanovna have a tab called "Signal Generator" but the H4 does not (or I can't find one).

I Can generate a signal on the frequency wanted by setting the start and stop to the same frequency and can hear the signal on the receiver but is it possible to somehow control the output precisely?

It is possible to use the Power setting but they are preset and the only options are "Auto, 2mA, 4mA, 6mA,8mA" and not what I want.

Thanks for any help

The Tiny SA Ultra has this ability, to generate a signal on a precise
frequency, at a very precise, calibrated level. Use that. -- Rich

You can set the frequency to output on one frequency but you can’t set the level. It is much higher than -73 dBm so you need attenuators and a way to measure that level so you can adjust the attenuation

try cw mode

is the h4 a sa or vna?.

VNA... The full name is NanoVNA-H4. Manufactured by Hugen and sold on the Zeenk AliExpress store or from various distributors like R&L in USA
