SAA2N reviews
Hello Everyone,
I¡¯ve been away a while. Been catching up quietly reading the posts. I have one of the original nanoVNA clones (white) that I was never able to upgrade the firmware on with my mac. I was thinking about getting the SAA2N by Hugen and was wondering what the consensus is in the the whole version 2 and the upgrade with the N connectors. It looks great. Are there issues with version 2 that one should wait for an updated design as we have seen with the original mini with the F and H variants? Thoughts? Hugen mentions that his new version ¡°N¡± has some concession for updates? Accuracy? Thanks, Vince |
You can also wait for the V2 Plus4 which will have 4 inch display, 4x faster sweep (400 points/s), support up to 4GHz and has 70dB dynamic range to 3GHz.
Right now I have evaluated a few large screen V2 clones and the only one I know performs acceptably is the 3.2 inch one. The price is trustworthy at $100-150 for 4 inch and $70-90 for 3.2 inch, if the price is too low they may have used worse accessories or parts. |

How are you? SAA2N uses both quality N connectors, cables with N connectors and most importantly good quality N calibration kit. Either wait for OwO next release or SAA2N you will be ok. I agree that there are some manufactured SAA that may have some quality issues (not aware from what manufacturer) however both OwO recommendations and Hugen's products are the way to go. Ok!
But the SAA2N that we are referring to with the N connectors made by Hugen but sold by another marketer has a 4 inch screen ... Regarding the calibration, it is not a problem of the product but from the firmaware ... This is not a bug or poor design. I just hope that a developer will continue the great work that has already been done. |

Aleks,
In fact, what I understand is that this way of doing things is not a bug but desired during the design. There is surely a way to further improve the procedure but it takes people able to listen to needs / requests and write it down ... The product has potential but it takes feedback from users and people to code ... |

First things first. Hugen does not sell on Tindie. One cannot compare nanoVNA-H with SAA2 firmware. What you said is not 100% correct, and it's user misunderstanding about the tool itself. V2 holds calibration and saves it. If you change frequencies either you recall again calibration or do calibration again. That is from OwO SW feature. I agree with it up to the point it reminds user that it's using different calibration for the frequency span. This feature was discussed already many times. About the display... I cannot understand who wants to use the display if nanovna-saver exponentially enhances the usability, including the saving of infinite calibration scenarios? ;) A quarta, 2/09/2020, 13:05, <aleks07111971@...> escreveu: This microbe has two problems! |
