NanoVNA-Saver: Testers wanted

Hi everyone,
I'm working on NanoVNA-Saver 0.1.0, and with the number of users we're up
to now, I think it's probably best to try to release slightly more stable
code than has previously been the norm.

To that end, I intend to release an "alpha version", the purpose of which
is to get your feedback *primarily* on "things that do not work", and not
as much on new features. I will then focus for a few days on stability, and
then start work on the next features after the "proper" release.

If you want to be included in the list of people who test these alpha
versions for bugs, please send me an email direct at mihtjel@...

For the rest of you: I'm not taking away or hiding anything for you; but
I'm going to start delaying new releases for a few days to avoid the crash
bugs that sometimes occur, such as what's in 0.0.12 if a band ending (but
not the beginning) happens to be in a sweep. ;-) All code will still be on
GitHub.

Rune, do you want feedback here or via email?

Hi Rune;

I've been following your NanoVNA Saver development with much interest, and I support your wise decision to throttle back on adding features so you can focus on making sure you don't have any bugs lurking in what already exists. I've spent most of my time sorting through the firmware posts in search of which is the most bug free, which is getting supported, and is attempting to enhance performance and/or add meaningful features. I'm still not certain I'm on the right path, but I am now concentrating my focus on edy555 as the baseline reference. His 0.1.1 release seems to behave well, but things became unstable when I installed his 0.2.2 release after having tried a 2.1 GHz version (by Cho I think?).

Hello Rune,

If you haven't done so already, please add my name to your list of Alpha testers if you would like. I will be testing on a Dell Laptop computer running Windows 10 and an iMac under Mojave 10.14.6. I understand that this is a chance to test for program bugs and not recommend new features.

I agree. I do believe the it's time to nail down at least one foot. That way you can only run in a small circle!

Thanks for all the work you've done on this incredible project.

Larry

Of course Larry, you've been a great help thus far! :-)

I'll be doing alpha testing for each new version from here on.
