NanoVNA-H4

I have been an owner of a NanoVNA SAA-2N for some time now and have upgraded it several times with firmware developed by DiSlord with excellent results.

I have just recently ordered a NanoVNA-H4 to experiment with the TinyPFA firmware developed by Erik. There will be times when I wish to return this NanoVNA-H4 to its original functionality and because I have had experience with DiSlord's firmware, I would like to utilize it. In looking at his Github offerings, he has NanoVNA-H4-SI and NanoVNA-H4-MS versions of 1.2.14 available for download. I do not understand which version I should use when I want to restore my NanoVNA-H4's VNA functionality.

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated!

Recent shipments of the -H4 are using the Chinese clone chip so you want the MS version. Check the label on the back of the device to see if it is marked MS. Latest FW is version 1.2.19 available at at link below. You select MS or SI in the menu after you install the firmware.

Thanks, Roger, that's helpful.

When you say select MS or SI I found where to do that, but I get confused over what more it's in! If the label say "Si" does that mean the device in in MS mode, and that you press to switch to SI? Or vice versa!

Cheers,
David

The label shows the mode it is currently in.

FW defaults to SI mode. . You need to do a Save Config after you set it so that it will power up again in the correct mode.
