This is quite recent, and I'm pleased with the one I bought:

Just remember - you can buy the latest and greatest, but if you can't get after-sales support or software fixes it's not a great buy.

At least the nanoVNA and SSA firmware has been graciously supported by DiSlord up to now and there is a pile of documentation and knowledge on the nanoVNA WIKI.

Rud61, David, Larry Et Al,

??? I agree with David and Larry's comments. In addition to this, there are a few other things to consider:

??? 1: As you mentioned, screen size.
??? 2: Connector type. SMA vs N. N type are a little more durable and maybe harder to damage.
??? 3: Case/no-case (I think the earlier models only).
??? 4: Are you getting what you think? There are several "knock-offs" that may not live up to your expectations. Buy from a reputable dealer.
??? 5: Support (programming and operations and group support).

??? So... I got an SAA2N for Christmas (thank you dear wife!). Why? Reputable dealer (R&L). Metal case. N connectors. Larger screen. Comes with a nice case, calibration loads, two short jumpers, a USB cable and a "guitar pick" pointer that helps a lot with selecting things on the screen. Do I know what I'm doing with it? Well, enough to be dangerous! (read: Not really!) I wanted something that would cover VHF/UHF. It's nice that it goes to 3 GHz, but not necessary for my purposes at this time.

??? My first impressions are very positive except the touch screen is a might "touchy." But, beyond just learning about how it works and how to interpret the results, I'm quite happy. I'm actually beginning to understand (in the most rudimentary way!) Smith charts!

??? So, I hope that helps you make a decision! Have fun!

There is one important thing for hamradio operators who build stuff them self should know. It's regarding measuring crystals with the NanoVNA's.
All V2 versions switch on and off the test signal rapidly and can not measure crystals or be used as a signal generator.
For measuring crystals they recommend using an original NanoVNA by edy555. ( taken from )

I had plans to buy the new V2 Plus4 to replace my V2 and H4 with just one device. But this way I should keep my H4 for measuring crystals. So except for the display size of the V2 Plus4 there is no need for me in that.

Since you don't say why you want one, or what you would use it for, here's my thoughts.

If you are going to use it outdoors, get the NanoVNA-F. (There is just 'one' to choose from.)
Frequency? Only you know that. (for example, I have no need or use for GHz tests.)
TWO versions have the large display, -H4 and -F.
My "OPINION" is - - get the NanoVNA-F, from BH5HNU's dealer Deepelec or from a U.S. ham store.

I have an early, cheap clone 2.8 inch, with no shielding, and a decent -F clone. I like and use them both, but the -F is useful outdoors, where the antennas are. And can store s1p files, although I don't need that (yet).

You did not mention price in your question, so the best thing to do is buy one of every model. Then tell us which is best! (And send me the leftovers.)

No matter which model you order, be SURE to also get connector adapters (both male and female) for every kind of RF connector you have. And patch cables. I have had to order adapters for UHF, BNC, F and MCX. And a binding posts adapter like the Pomona 1296 can be very useful.

ANY NanoVNA is better than none. It's hard to go wrong.
