Fixture PCB for VNA

I made a fixture PCB for my VNA and I think it would be useful as well for the NanoVNA. You can find it at:

It has the following features:

1. Calibration standards for open, short, load, thru for SMA and BNC
2. Four spots to solder on 0805 SMD components to create test loads for SMA, and an area left so that one can label the loads.
3. ZIF socket for leaded component testing, both SMA and BNC
4. A spot to place a spring clip into the board so that you can lay components flat against the board and clip them in to test them.

I do not think these calibration standards will necessarily work out to 900 MHz but should be useful for convenient testing at HF/VHF.

A picture of the test fixture is below.

Nice board.

Daniel, can you go back to the subject line of your post and add the hashtag #test-jig?
I think only originators of topics have access to do that.

It would be interesting to compare the vertical mounted SMA against the side mounted SMA.
I've read that the 90 turn in the signal causes measurement errors, but nothing about when
this is a problem.

I looked, and I'm not sure how to add the hash-tag.

I put the BNC in the middle and made the SMA on the outside because BNC
isn't going to be as accurate, and so I figured it was ok to use vertical
mount for BNC, while the SMA side-mount connectors can go on the edge of
the board. I figured that something useful should go in the center of the
board, so I added BNC calibration standards as well.

I do not think it is possible after posting the initial message for a topic;
hash-tag is any word in topic subject line prefixed by #
editing existing posts was disabled

Thanks - looks really nice.
For checking SMT active devices, the engineers I used to work with, used? fixtures with toggle-clamps to hold the DUT in place.
