I was sent this image today, which is allegedly a new V2 clone on the market with inferior performance. You can see that way under 900MHz the dynamic range has already worsened to 40dB.

Currently the only "known good" supplier of the V2 is our client Shengxun technologies (hcxqs group on tindie and taobao) who I have assisted with QC.
I will keep this list updated about any new "known good" suppliers I have checked out to make sure they meet the specs published in the user guide. If you are manufacturing the V2 (or planning to), you can send me some of your samples and I can verify them.

There is also the problem that post between China and Europe seems to have stalled. For obvious reasons.

How does one know if he got a clone? I ordered a NanoVNA H4 via Alibaba but
haven't received it yet. I expect it within a week.

That's what you get if items are shipped 4th class mail i.e. e-packet. But no worry, most first class mail is stuck too and not only in Asia, I have shipments that have been cleared by incoming customs now stuck in NYC for the last 3 weeks. So even if it leaves Shanghai, and you live in the US chances are it will be stuck again at a US port.

I went on Ebay and specified US only and ordered a NanoVNA-H4. I ordered on Apr 26 and it arrived May 1. Meanwhile I have been learning it. I have all this time and no new toys so I fixed that. Someday I will have both an F and a H and see what differences there are.

Oh $75 plus tax and free shipping...

Buy from a US re-seller, R&L Elec., fast delivery and you don't deal with
those East of the Great Wall.

Gabriel started this topic to warn about bad 3 GHz NanoVNA-V2 clones starting to show up. The suggestions regarding buying stateside do not apply to the NanoVNA-V2 because there are no stateside distributors. I suggested to R&L Electronics that they consider adding the NanoVNA-V2 to their NanoVNA-H v3.4 and NanoVNA-H4 product line, but I'm not sure it they want to deal with an un-packaged (no case, SOLT, or cable accessories) product.

Known issue:
1.The touch pin connection of the LCD we use is slightly different from other sold versions. You may need to recalibrate the touch after updating the firmware. The manual of xpt2046 has been checked, and we believe that the connection sequence of our LCD is correct.
2.Above 3GHz, the performance will be seriously degraded. I will try to make some improvements, but for the time being, I have not designed a new PCB plan. The original GitHub file lacks the sym file and cannot be directly modified, and it takes a long time to verify after the modification.

The 4-inch version is already in the plan, and I will still use OwOComm's original PCB files to make it, but I will properly handle the installation of the 4-inch display.
Making S-A-A is not my main job, I only make them in my spare time and sell them by Maggie, so the arrival of the 4-inch version may be slow.

If Gabriel Tenma White and your team can help with further verification, I can provide some samples.

Thank you very much for your guidance. Now there is a problem that 617DB-1023 has been discontinued. I tried to use YB006T-1023 instead, but the consistency of YB006T-1023 will be worse. I need to find more 617DB-1023 before larger production Or alternatives with consistent performance.

I say "unnamed", because '5371093' is simply shop's numerical ID on Aliexpress ->

I waited almost full 60d for the delivery (oh, covid), it arrived 1.5day before full-refund would trigger.
Now I checked the listing and it's 10$ cheaper, and has some freebies. Just my luck :)

I'm pretty new to the VNAs, and picked this unit as tool for learning, oh well, now I have it.

I guess I was lucky. I ordered my NanoVNA H4 through Ali Express and got it
in a box that looks legitimate, with all the expected accompanying parts. I
have not found any problems in its performance.

Try calibrating it with the short, open, 50 ohm, etc. terminations and then
trying to sweep something like an antenna with known SWR at specific
frequencies. Or even just some inductors and capacitors. See if you get the
expected results.

how is status of V2 with 4 inches!
may I ask 617DB-1023 or YB006T-1023 is used in yours?
Do your product support same firmware+software from S-A-A-2, mean direct updates?

bcos I am interested in 4 inches ver. stilled finding out original 2.8" upgrade to 4" or buying product like yours, or wait for official 4" version.

I wish that Tindie or whoever sells official version would allow you to pre-order them so you knew you would get an official, non-clone copy, and they would simply build and send them in order of pre-orders received.

I certainly would prefer pre-ordering and having to wait then spending money and ending up with an inferior clone.
