Very nice, thanks.?

HTML is in public domain
Easier to print:

Oops, previous menu gif background was light gray;
whitened:

If you'd like to make this diagram slightly narrower, the right-most rows on calibrate and format could be made to go vertically down.

Sweet!
Nice work.?

Maybe also put
"Press control or touch screen for menu"
into a horizontal box, and on 1 line instead of 3, similar to the "Display" box, and have the left side of it even with, and above, the "Display" box.
That would make it just a little bit narrower also.

Thank you for the nanoVNA menu diagram! It's helped me more than once.

associated help file content is revised,
but not yet for firmware updates (the next step):

Hi Stan -

That would make it just a little bit narrower also.
Sadly, that little horizontal twig just right of "Press control" block
is hard-wired for all vertical branches
and would be pretty hard to remove for only one; I tried...
I may try again, after help is updated for new firmware functions,
but that involves much CSS whittling, not my strong suit.
I could move that block closer to the left edge, though.

I am hoping that iOS 13 (which adds mouse support) will allow
tool tips to appear for mouse hovers. Even without nanoVNA attach support,
being able to better use iProducts for help would be worthwhile..

How about this?

Hi W5DXP:

How about this?
I notice that your PNG lacks recent TRANSFORM update.

Tricky CSS in
automagically draws menu tree leaves, branches and twigs
by redefining relatively simple HTML (<dl><dt><dt>, <ul><li>, <p> <tt>)
that reflects menu structure and which markup is relatively easy
to revise and supplement with tool tips and links.

I lack wit or ambition to invent CSS that dynamically optimizes path generation.
I reject JavaScript, based on traumatic stress as Unix system administrator
when enterprise IT released pathological proxy.pac.

I lost sleep last night, pondering Stan's suggestion for CSS changes
which may result in overall cleaner (if not smaller) diagrams.

I still think it better to first complete
adding more help links and tool tips for recent firmware extensions.

Hi W5DXP (and others) -

Help for use of FORMAT options is wanted.
I know a little about LOGMAG, PHASE, SMITH, but:
* when to use others?
* what other settings interact?

Nah - way too crowded. I liked your previous layout.

That is still the default link..

I think the latest one looks pretty nice. I was just trying to help a little bit with making it narrower.

I think you're doing terrific for not being too familiar with the programming you're using.
And remember, there's no way to make everybody happy...

Hi Stan -

I think the latest one looks pretty nice.
It is more compact, which may help on smaller screens.

I think you're doing terrific for not being too familiar with the programming you're using.
Anyone with time and Internet search can do it.

And remember, there's no way to make everybody happy...
My goal is minimizing unhappiness.
VNA is conceptually pretty simple, IMO,
but acronyms and esoteric naming provoke difficulties.

Traditional menus obscure too much.
Ideally, one could mouse with menu map:
* hover briefly for hints
* right-click for more help
* left click to execute.

.. but
* CSS hover does not work for mobile devices
- tested mouse with new iOS 13..
* right-click also seems doomed without JavaScript

Another possibility is radio buttons
to switch action for all map entry links
between help and execute.

If you are changing menus, could you make the VNA back button loop around if using the switch. For example, if you are in a menu item labeled back, if you press left switch, it goes up one item, and if you press right switch, it loops back around to the first item in the menus. The jog switch is sometimes not as responsive, especially if you have multiple listed items.
Thanks,
David

Hi David -
