My Win 11 machine does not recognize the Nanovna H4 in DFU mode. #nanovna-h4

I cannot find a driver for Win 11 for use with stm32080. Where do I find a driver or should I use another tool to make the firmware upgrade?

When you put the NanoVNA into DFU mode and plug it in do you hear the "bing" from Windows that it recognizes the device. If you look in Device manager under USB devices do you see that device is in DFU mode?

Post a screenshot if possible.

Thanks for the reply Roger!

Well, I am not a computer tech. Finally figured out that win 10 drivers would work and there is driver loading software in the 64 bit H4 zip file. I upgraded to DIslords
v .1.0.71. Got the H4 talking to NanoVNA Saver and NANOVNA on my tablet.

Calibration works using commercial standards. Matches my home made standards very closely. I do mostly HF with Some VHF and UHF. I have not checked my Home made standards at VHF or UHF yet.

Unable to get the SD memory card to work. Memory chips are probably too new and too large at 32 GB. My H4 platform is STM32F303xC Analog and DSP. TCXO is 26 MHz.

Many thanks to all that made this wonderful piece of test equipment possible!

1.0.71 is an old version of firmware. Hugen has just released a new H4 version based on DiSlord firmware. Many, many new features. There are two versions SI and MS. SI is for original Skyworks clock chip and MS is for Chinese clone. If your unit was produced recently it may have the MS version and you will see an M on the label on the back of your unit. Not all SD cards work for reasons given in another post. I use a Kingston 32 GB SD card and it works fine.

Just FYI.. None of the highly qualified PC professional and or PhD gurus I
know will allow Win 11 in their machines until it has had a few years on
the market for Microsoft to work out the bugs. There is no reason to
"upgrade" just to pay more $$ to Microsoft. I'm in no rush to gather bugs.

Best to keep Win 10 and use Virtualbox to run Win11 in a separate section
if you feel you must have stuff on the "bleeding edge" of Microsoft's
"technology".
Vbox is likely to run most things faster. I have an extra 2tb ssd in my
laptop so I can run XP Pro for my legacy stuff in a 100gb slice and Ubuntu
Linux in a 400gb slice and still have an extra 500gb above my 2tb C drive.

Vbox is free and easy to use

Hello

You can install the driver on win 11 if you disable core isolation, you are putting your computer at risk of being hacked due to kernel level exploits, although for the amount of time it takes to update your firmware it is doubtful someone will be watching and waiting with a ramsomware attack. Anyway, just go to settings, security centre, device security, now under core isolation disable memory integrity then reboot. You should now be able to install the DFU driver.

I take no responsibility for any damage to your machine, although I did this myself to update to Dislords lates driver for the nano vna h4, then turned memory integrity back on, although you may have n issue with this as Win 11 is grumpy about the driver and it will complain that you cannot turn memory integrity back ion due to an incompatible driver.

So what you need to do is remove the driver, it hides itself as oem48.inf, follow this¡

It¡¯s probably a lot easier to do what Roger Needs said about the win 10 drivers though, but if you can¡¯t find them this is how I did it. Just in case someone else gets in the same situation¡

Thanks for userguide YouTube was of no use to me now I know how to measure swr at least and gave a link to some proper videos in the guide for someone that knows what they are doing¡

Have a good one¡
