BT connection doesn't work on NanoVNA-saver

I am trying to use nanovna-saver (release 0.3.8) connecting to my VNA through Bluetooth. My nanoVNA has been equipped with a HC05 BT module. Windows10 creates two COM ports once I add it to the list of Bluetooth devices. They are COM3 and COM4. Using Teraterm, connected to COM3, I am perfectly able to communicate with nanoVNA. If I run NanoVNA-App.exe, by OneOfEleven, I am able to use that GUI and interact with nanoVNA.

Why I cannot do the same with nanoVNA-saver? If I press the "Rescan" button that COM port is not found. If instead I use a wired USB connection, everything is ok.

Best regards,

Maybe because there is no development team.
Maybe whoever started it was a ¡°swan song,¡± so there¡¯s no one in the heart of anyone to wear and develop it further.

This problem exist long time. Try manually enter com port setting to nanovna saver. Rescan not work. Manually defined com port works with virtual com port.

Unfortunatly even if I manually enter the com port, nanoVNA Saver 0.3.8 doesn't connect and issues this error:

2020-12-22 22:56:54,788 - NanoVNASaver.NanoVNASaver - ERROR - Tried to open None and failed: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'open'

If I use tho older version 0.2.0 I am able, after manually enter COM11 (this is my BT virtual port), to have nanoVNA saver working.

Why version newer than 0.2.0 don't work on BT virtual COM?

"Why version newer than 0.2.0 don't work on BT virtual COM?"

A poetic question to which the answer is: there is no one to carry on Rune¡¯s legacy.
Happy Holidays and all the best!
