NanoVNA-H blocked, clearconfig does not work ... #consolecommands #edy555_nanovna #crash

Hi folks!

after quite a long time without using it, today I switched on my nanoVNA-H 3.4 and it got stacked at the first screen.
Version 0.4.5-1-gfbbceca / Build Time: Dec. 26 2019 - 19:32:31

I looged into it with a console and launched the "clearconfig 1234" command, without any success, the console just gets stacked at that command too.
USB cable is working, because other commands such as info, or threads are working properly.
Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot!

Cesar,
I have the same version hardware. Try installing OneOfEleven¡¯s - NanoVNA App PC software (do a search on both of those terms). At the top of the application screen you will see a button with two up-arrows, this takes you to a dialogue box that allows you to upload one of three predefined firmware versions and/or select a .dfu file you downloaded. Works a treat (in theory the ¡®H4¡¯ shouldn¡¯t apparently).

BTW If you¡¯ve not used PC Apps with NanoVNA before you¡¯ll need to make sure you connect first by selecting a comm port (second button, top left of screen)

Hope this helps - - -

Hi C¨¦sar,
It is an interesting experience that after a long period of switched off, the clearconfig operation is not available with the terminal program.
My question is why did this come to mind when we use the 'clearconfig1234' command to clean memory when firmware upgrades?
We use at new firmware, so it needs to be recalibrated, be clean.
If I understand correctly, after a long time you just turned it on and did not log in as usual, but freeze at a screen.
Do I understand that?
If this has happened, it is possible that the touch screen is under constant pressure, you can check this by unpacking it from the plastic housing and then turning it on again. If it's okay now, that's why.
If not, you can continue to search.
Since December last year the firmware on the device, it is advisable to update because it is possible that this is the reason.
Our programming friends have not been idle since then and newer firmware and newer pc programs often appear.
Use the Files folder in the group to install the highest number of DiSlord firmware.
If you have problems during the installation, install the DMR memory cleaner .dfu and then the firmware .dfu you want to use.
Look for it here as DMR-CLEAR_MEMORY_DFU.dfu.
I wish you a successful solution.

In some cases after long power off NanoVNA not start after first power on. Need power off and after power on again (in most acses after secon power on all good).

Dear Gyula,
thanks a lot for your message. You understood correctly and provided the right solution: I just unscrew the four rear screens a little bit, and the device got working again as it did in the past. Great!.
Indeed, to store it I use a small metallic box and to protect its screen I put some foam around it, so that probably the foam was increasing the preassure over the screen, thereby leading to this "pressure effect" on the screen and blocking it.
Again, thank you so much!

Dear Ross Filippi,
thanks a lot for your answer. The problem was that the touch-screen was too much pressed, as Gyula Molnar pointed out, a bit unscrew of the rear screws solved the problem. In any case for sure it will be good to update the firmware, I will try it in a future occasion when I have a bit more of time.
THANKS & 73!

Hi DiSlord,
thanks for your message! indeed I tried many times to power on and off but the frozen "welcome" screen was always there. It turned out to be a problem of too much pressure on the screen, loosening up a bit the rear screws solved the problem.
Best, 73!

Thanks for that. Had the same problem. Now cleared
