Re: COAXIALLY WOUND CHOKE
Dave, Very nice results. Thanks so much for sharing those results. Have a photo to share? -- Brian K0FBS

Re: Start up error.
Good day Ken. Thanks for the reply. Running the NanoVna saver software.exe, does not even start up to the real measuring screen. The .exe runs in the system prompt area for a while and then just

Re: Start up error.
I have an SAA-2N and I occasionally have similar problems with NanoVNA-Saver. The software will detect the device on the appropriate COM port, but when you click on ¡®Connect to device¡¯, the

Good afternoon to the group. I have been using NanoVna saver for more than 2 years and upgraded after each new version but left the old .exe files in a folder. Suddenly, trying to run the .exe files I

Re: RF Sampler
I made a sampler with current transformer many years ago (before good measuring equipment was common to hams). After making it , it was measured by a friend with access to prefessional equipment as

Re: RF Sampler
These couplers are not directional; in/out can be at either end. 30dB is a practical coupling factor. Coupling is proportional to turns ratio (the through-line is one turn). For 1000:1 (30dB)

Re: RF Sampler
Kerry, Nice to see the hardware on the photos. Which side of the trough has to be the input? I suppose there is some directivity? And if I want? -20dB coupling, do I have to use more windings on the

Halloooo.... miro - Your answers are nagging. Only bla, bla, bla. Every very, §Ñ very little smart student will understand what I talking for ! Only for Peaks ! See the attachment now- to learn what

Re: RF Sampler
I built this one but cannot get linear. As in output was way too low at 80m to be usable 10 m was the same. Ok on 20/17/15 Adrian VK4KL

Re: RF Sampler
Two home-made couplers are shown in the attached photos; that will give some ideas on construction. Construction details are shown on one photo. #43 ferrite will give very similar results. Performance

Re: PROCEDURES for MEASURING DM LOSS and CM ATTENUATION of CMCs
Dave, Thank you for the great summary and information about measure CMC CM attenuation. I have a couple of follow up questions for you and/or the group, if I may. I notice the process is for bifilar

Re: MORE CMC SINGLE CORE DATA
I differ on that point. I claim that they are true CMCs, just like bifiliarly wound ones. They do suppress common mode current on a coax cable just as well as on a bifiliar one. Thus they tend to

Re: MY CMC MEASUREMENT #measurement
Just to get us "more scientific" and enable others to use and rely on your experience, would be great if you can provide "set up and measurements" in SI units instead of in descriptive statements :)

COAXIALLY WOUND CHOKE
OK, guys and gals..... I wound 13 turns of RG-142 on two stacked 240-43 cores. That's all I could somewhat gracefully wind on the cores. I've got roughly 3' of unwound RG142 out one side as I didn't

Gary, I built this one. Not difficult to wind the coil. Testing is a good thing after completion. Looks like the eBay vendor is using this same design. It might come down to the difference between
