Re: TDR Measurement
Thanks for the comments. I'll have to spend some more time with the Nanovna in TDR. Is there a manual to read?

Re: Definition of resonance
So is the circuit I published on another thread, with an inductor, a capacitor and two resistors resonant at all frequencies? The reactance is zero at all frequencies. IF these parameters are SAME

Re: Definition of resonance
I cut my teeth using coax and still do for my radio astronomy interests. However, I use a 450 foot long doublet on 630 through 6 meters with a home brew L-Network matching network. The feedline is

Re: Definition of resonance
I have been following this discussion. If the tuner is attached directly at the antenna I refer to it as an antenna tuner. If the tuner is connected to the transmission line feeding the antenna I

Dave states: That is preferred when building an antenna for a fixed frequency with a specific radiation pattern. If building a 4 element yagi for 14.1 mhz, that is exactly what I would do. And a 50kw

Re: NanoVNA vs. MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer
Even more fun, you can tune a multiband fun dipole because you can see all the resonances. Once you've tuned one with a VNA, tuning one with something like a MFJ gets easier.

Re: NanoVNA vs. MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer
I have 2 Version 1 NanoVNAs and one Version 2 NanoVNA, and have had no problems with any of them. As far as being hard to use, I'm with Bob K6DDX. Have someone show you how to use it, you will pick

I have bought good short RG316 cables with BNC and SMB connectors from Kiki at http://www.rfsupplier.com. They have good prices and cables were well made. I would recommend RG316 instead of RG58 or

Thank you! That is good to know. Forgive me, but as old school and 73 years 'wise', I much prefer a hard copy. Dave - W?LEV -- *Dave - W?LEV* *Just Let Darwin Work*

My NanoVNA came with something more like 0.1" coax (RG-174 type or something). Multitude of suppliers from companies you've never heard of. If you want more consistency, maybe try L-com
