Re: [Question] Accessories to "common" measurements.
I soldered a couple of SMA jacks to a generic type of receptacle that will allow me to look at various parts with the nVNA: -- John AE5X https://ae5x.blogspot.com/

Hello everyone, What about these generic clips? Or, what clips for HF one would recommend ? Cheers!

Firmware
I think I have an old version of the firmware. This is what I get from the following commands. Should I update and can anyone advise on the best option to do this? ch> help Commands: help exit info

Inductor resonance and self-resonance experiments #measurement
Given earlier discussions about inductors I thought some of you might be interested in a very thorough investigation by G3YNH into inductors measurements:

Re: Through calibration with 75 ohm coax piece?
Hi Bruce Use e.g. 10 meter of the cable and do two measurements (with the F to SMA fitted in both ends) where the one is with the far end open and the second with far end shorted. Then use AC6LA

Re: Through calibration with 75 ohm coax piece?
A second read of your method is the so called substitution method. Sure if the cables under test are really poor, your measurement will flag that issue.

Re: Through calibration with 75 ohm coax piece?
Hi Bruce, No, the process is a bit more appropriate if you proceed by first doing a 50 ohm cal. A complete cal includes S21. Then build a pair of simple L or PI Resistive minimum loss pads. These will

This test board is a test kit that we provide to our customers and we want them to buy it with their nanoVNA-H purchase to facilitate some DIY experiments. I've seen some merchants selling them

Re: NanoVNA-V2 from Tindie
Hi Herb You wrote 3. I ran a SOLT calibration on the V2 using NanoVNA-QT and the through calibration was spot on (see attachments). Indeed I have same sort of trace, but the thru calibration is ideal

Through calibration with 75 ohm coax piece?
I'd like to do check the attenuation loss in some old & weathered RG-6 (75 ohm) cables for the TV signal frequencies. The nanoVNA seems perfect for that, however given the impedance mismatch (50 ohm
