I assembled all of the available (at that time) firmware that you see in the Files section.? It was done at a time when things were scattered around and forum members were asking where to find a particular version.? Oristo categorized the versions a little better on the Wiki but to date, no one has actually built a table showing the various features of each developer's release.? Of course - now that you've started, I'm sure it would be appreciated by others in the forum if you could create a nicely formatted table either as a PDF (easy export from an Office app) or HTML. Re: NanoVNA-Saver 0.2.0
Rune,
Seems at least a few members are requesting the capability of taking and saving a screenshot be added to NanoVNA-Saver. The python code is included in edy555's nanovna.py script. From my experience, the primary "got you" is the NanoVNA needs to be reset when taking screenshots of the version screen or a screen including the on-screen keyboard. You might pow-pow with QRP regarding the latter two problems as he seems to have figured it out in NanoVNA Sharp V3. Not sure if he solved it by firmware modification or in code. - Herb |

The software takes readings from the NanoVNA, and displays them and does calculations on them. The readings taken are the S-parameters, S11 and S21, so any settings for traces on the device are ignored. NanoVNA-Saver does its own calculations of derived values, including TDR. It allows reading more than 101 points by stitching together multiple "segments" of the total span of interest. Calibration is available on the PC-side in NanoVNA-Saver, which allows you to get a calibration with more points than on the device itself, as well as the ability to use custom calibration standard sets. The application does not (currently) support taking screenshots of the NanoVNA - there are excellent scripts that do this out there - but you can save images of any of the graphs via the right click menu. Frequency generation is still fundamentally part of the firmware - NanoVNA-Saver tells the firmware the start and stop frequency of the "segment" it is currently reading, and gets back a list of the actual frequencies read, and the values at those frequencies. To get a step size lower than 100Hz, you would need a firmware that supports steps of that size. The software does not need a specific firmware, but newer firmwares have bugfixes, and I recommend using a new firmware to get the best experience with your device in general. I hope I've answered your questions, otherwise, don't hesitate to ask here on the list :-) -- Rune / 5Q5R On Thu, 14 Nov 2019 at 14:23, Karsten, DD1KT <ktholmann@...> wrote:

NanoVNA-Saver reads the current frequency span of the NanoVNA, and uses that as the default. It does not read any other configuration values from the NanoVNA, yet anyway. I answer partially instead Rune's. The limitation of 100Hz comes from the firmware, and maybe even hardware. Another solution to determine the motionals parameters of a crystal is to use SNASharp with a compatible scalar analyzer. Look here: SNASharp official page (in french sorry): David, F4HTQ. -----Message d'origine-----

forgive me Rune, maybe it has already been said a million times but I still have doubts. Let's say I have the nanoVNA turned on "Recall 4". I connect NanoVNA-Saver to the device and the program synchronizes to the same frequency range as the device. What else does NanoVNA-Saver read from the NanoVNA? calibration values? other? thanks and congratulations for the excellent program. 73, Lucio I0LYL |

I'm using eclipse to edit and the github gui to sync with github.
Apart from remembering to save the files you edited because otherwise the make file will not do anything this works well. Re: NanoVNA-Saver 0.2.0
Rune,
While verifying a cable that I just constructed, I noticed that you had implemented a second marker in the TDR graph. Thanks a lot! Its nice to be able to mark other anomalies, in addition to the peak, and get a readout of where they occur. The attachment shows the TDR graph with a second marker showing the minor discontinuity caused by the BNC "bullet" at 0.3 meters. The phase delay graph is telling me something, just not sure how to interpret it ; ) - Herb |

Yes, you can edit the link I made to your forum post.? ?
The trick is that you have to edit the whole wiki page - so please be careful.? Unfortunately, the forum owner disabled the ability to edit posts although you can delete and repost if you need to make a correction. The only drawback is every post gets sent out to those who subscribed to individual postings.? ? What Oristo and I have done in some areas is to create a pdf document, place it in the files area and then create a link to in in the wiki.? ? As for filenames, I'm starting to use dashes or underscores instead of spaces to stop the group.io subsystem from substituting %20 for them and making a mess of the filename.? ? ...
