Re: Two Beginner's Questions
I know Rakon makes their crystal filters in France. Don't know about the others but I doubt they are manufactured in the U.S. Mike N2MS

Measuring FM deviation for 9600 baud packet
All, I have a Timewave PK-96 modem hooked up to a Kenwood TM-V7a via the 9600 port and wish to do 9600 packet over FM VHF (145.090). However, it says in the manual to measure the deviation from the

Re: How to run the app in Linux Mint 21
I'm running Mint 21 Cinnamon. I just downloaded NanoVNA Saver from github ( NanoVNASaver.linux.zip <https://github.com/NanoVNA-Saver/nanovna-saver/releases/download/v0.5.3/NanoVNASaver.linux.zip> ) I

Re: Two Beginner's Questions
There are quite a few companies making & selling crystal filters. Probably mostly offshore, but perhaps not. Rakon Murata ECS and a bunch more You might also find crystal filters intended for defense

Re: Two Beginner's Questions
You may want to check with Rob Sherwood on the filter impedance. He used to sell them for Drake Rigs: <http://www.sherweng.com/filters.htm> Network Sciences made the filters and are still in business.

Re: How to run the app in Linux Mint 21
Great, thank you for the lead. I use the shell that shipped with Linux Mint, so it's likely bash? I will tinker with it. I have mostly avoided the terminal, but there is too much radio that can only

Re: Two Beginner's Questions
Sort of - the S11 measurement will tell you the impedance "looking into" the filter, and if you were looking for a perfect match, then you'd want to feed it from the conjugate (same R, flip sign of

Re: Two Beginner's Questions
Great discussion for me.. I haven't bought a VNA yet but my first project is to sweep some Drake filters too. Mine are from a T-4X 5.645MHz. I don't know what the termination is supposed to be but

Hi, Maybe these videos help ? It is a series of 3., watch the #100, #101 and #105 to have a complete view of a choke effect. https://youtu.be/kMlKfHHR8FY 73, and best wishes for the new year ?

Re: Two Beginner's Questions
True, but we are looking for a general idea of the shape of the filter. We're not doing rocket science or production specification (at least, I am not). The 7-Line filters ARE 50 Ohms as already

If you have the driver installed you will find a new comport in device manager when connecting the nano v2.. Select that port in the soft (upper left corner)... And click on connect. Should work
