Re: Can you hear my NanoVNA?
Be careful!? The Nano's output is a squarewave with odd harmonics. You don't want to be 'testing' at amateur freqs and radiating on commercial (or military/gov't) freqs. Remember to set the output

Re: Can you hear my NanoVNA?
I can easily pick up the nanovna's signal on my HF receiver, both audibly and on the waterfall display of my Icom IC-7610, which is more than 75 ft away from the rig's antenna(s). A small "rubber

I not use big text for 2.8 screen in my fw Hugen build firmware based on my v1.0.45 vs big font for 2.8 inch screen https://github.com/hugen79/NanoVNA-H/releases

Re: Can you hear my NanoVNA?
I getcha Don, but I wouldn't trust most of them (in the UK) to deliver my groceries, let alone work on my property. Far too many bad experiences. If you wanna hear the whole story, pm me and I'll be

Re: Is there any use-case for a waterfall display on the nanoVNA? #features #improvement
Hi Cliff: My 8510 VNA does have trace averaging and I have found that helpful on many occasions.? Math is similar to waterfall, but I agree, a waterfall display is for spectrum analyzers.? ?Kent

Re: Is there any use-case for a waterfall display on the nanoVNA? #features #improvement
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't think of any function of a VNA where a waterfall makes sense. It just isn't that type of measurement device. YMMV

Re: Can you hear my NanoVNA?
Phil, if the FCC wants to enforce their rule, they'll have to travel 4000 miles or more. We're in the UK and the rules are different. The guy is not using RF to broadcast. He sits a ghetto-blaster on

Re: Can you hear my NanoVNA?
For one thing, his call is G4GNX. I would assume he's not subject to FCC rules. For another, I assumed "broadcast in the streets" referred to playing his stereo very loud. In that case, he is not

Re: Can you hear my NanoVNA?
You do know that what your neighbor is doing is against FCC rules for using a broadcast freq, right? He should be warned because if anyone else notices and complains he could be up for a fine in the

Re: Is there any use-case for a waterfall display on the nanoVNA? #features #improvement
Yes, it would slow down the device but not all measurements are static. What if you want to tweak SWR or tune a filter and find the dip/peak but you cannot keep an eye on the device constantly and

Re: Is there any use-case for a waterfall display on the nanoVNA? #features #improvement
All VNA measures - static, no changes in time. Not need waterfall option, this just slowdown output

Re: Is there any use-case for a waterfall display on the nanoVNA? #features #improvement
Vav, I did not suggest the Nano be used as an SA as that is not a good use for it. All I mentioned was that the TinySA has a waterfall.?Again, a waterfall display is just another way to display

Research overall topic of using vnas as spectrum analyzers and I think you'll decide this is a bad idea. Not an expert but I think nano hardware, filters, software are designed for current purpose as

Re: Is there any use-case for a waterfall display on the nanoVNA? #features #improvement
Thanks Dave. A waterfall display is just another way of displaying data, but is versus time and that gives a (short) visual history of activity for an ongoing measurement. This allows a visual

I can't imagine what a real time waterfall could do which is not already provided! SWR? Just watch the Smith Chart. How would it apply to TDR measurements?? Personally, if it were provided, I
