SAA-2N: Product Review
[Note: I posted the following SAA-2N review on the V2 users group. The attached stock photo is only representative of the internals of the SAA-2N and the warped faceplate shown does not appear to be

Re: NanoVNA vs. MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer
OneOfEleven, Any objective reading would infer the "glee" over MFJ being "peed-off." They're not. And...sales do not seem to be hurt much as they can't keep up manufacturing production of their

Re: NanoVNA vs. MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer
Carson, Read any manual for a MFJ A-A..you'll see the section on calibration. MFJ sells calibration sets for their MFJ259/269 A-As. Frank K4FMH --- Frank M. Howell, PhD Professor Emeritus,

Perdad, The download link that I gave from the ARRL is missing a couple of files. I have put everything required in one zip file. I have verified that it now runs on Windows 7 and windows 8.1 (64

Why would I be disappointed ? I was only thinking the obvious. It's far better to share love, not hatefulness, xx

Re: NanoVNA vs. MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer
I would have to say the NanoVNA is probably putting a hurt on MFJ's sales of analyzers. Chris N9XCR

Re: NanoVNA vs. MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer
OneOfEleven, I can say for certain that Martin Jue is not peed-off, as you put it, over the NanoVNA. He's been designing the next generation of the MFJ antenna analyzer line for the past two years.

Re: NanoVNA vs. MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer
Hi Carson Well, knowing what I know about the NanoVNA's, I'd rather trust one rather than an analogue meter like the MFJ's, not because the MFJ's don't work (because they do!) but because a VNA gets

Re: NanoVNA vs. MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer
Thanks for sharing this - I just joined this group today! I had heard several times how the NanoVNA wasn't that accurate, so I was surprised to see how it compared to the MFJ analyzer. Thanks for

Re: Definition of resonance
Yes, this has been a good learning exercise. Remember that I made the test-setup to intentionally get some weird results to see if those could be handled by an antenna tuner and describe how. And yes,

It's updated on a regular basis - so make sure you have a look at the current version about once per day.

Re: NanoVNA vs. MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer
Yes, indeed! Again, the NANOVNA's are the best piece of test equipment to enter the amateur market (and some professional use as well) since the hand-held DMM. And, again, its a wonderful

For an open/short the VSWR is (mathematically) infinity. Displaying that is a practical limitation. Instead, you might look at dB(|S11|) or the Return Loss which should be right around 0dB after a

NanoVNA vs. MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer
I just watched VE3OSO's comparison video and had a chuckled at the end lol. I've been thinking for a while just how peed off MFJ must be now that we have these extremely useful little VNA's,
