Re: Your NanoVNA version - good clone, semi-bad clone comparison
Would it be possible to tell us - in layman's terms - how the spike at 300 MHZ can be corrected through software?

Re: Place to buy
Cecil To the best of my knowledge no one has demonstrated any performance differences between the ¡°good¡± ones and the ¡°bad¡± ones. Please correct me if that is not the case. WA8TOD Is it

Re: Yet another NanoVNA case
For those of us who have no capabilities to print this object, would you be able to give us some direction as to how to get it printed and shipped to us? Thanks. It looks perfect for my needs

Re: Your NanoVNA version - good clone, semi-bad clone comparison
Hi Jim How are you measuring dynamic range? Can you publish a pic of the 80 dB? WA8TOD

Re: The benefits of screening
No problem Jerry. I probably should have made more of the possibility that there could be some real stinkers out there. Aside from buying from Hugen there probably isn't a way to be sure of getting a

Re: Linux based tools for Nano VNA ?
Thanks you. I have installed dfu-util on my LM 18.3 perfectly. I am still waiting for my unit to arrive, so I cannot perform any tests yet. Vy 73 de Andy

Re: Quick compare with HP 8753C...
Hi Jerry, Your guess regarding how the Matlab function is used is correct. Four gamma measurements need to be recorded. They represent S11 values for a short, an open, the reference load, and the

Re: The benefits of screening
Mike, Yup, your right, thanks for the corrections. And for the report. I just wanted to emphasize that it's not so simple to distinguish good from bad, which seems to be on the minds of many

Re: Place to buy
Probably not. The last I heard Hugen was only selling via Alibaba sites: chinese language Taobao.com and international Alibaba.com. Not necessarily a bad clone of course. Mike

Re: Place to buy
Before I joined this group and before I knew anything about Hugen, I bought the attached from ST-EC. How does one tell a good black one from a bad black one?

Re: Quick compare with HP 8753C...
Fun puzzles. Casual users just wanting to check an antenna or measure a filter with their nanoVNA need not worry about these inner workings. I mentioned the script from Jeff in posts 1307 and 1311,

Linux based tools for Nano VNA ?
Are there any Linux based tools available ? Is there anyway to upload the .DFU files to the device on Linux ? I use Linux Mint 18.3 here, or Raspbian Linux. Also, has any supplier only sent out a

Re: Your NanoVNA version - good clone, semi-bad clone comparison
I think I have all three. A good Black one with shielding that has 80 dB dynamic range on the low end and 60 dB on the high end. A White one without shielding that has 70 dB on the low end and 50 dB

Hi Hans. I have a copy of the original page from the magazine. I can try to do a scan for a pdf. However, the main figure that is fundamental to the article is in my prior message post as a LT Spice

Re: The benefits of screening
There's a bunch of different manufacturers making clones. Seems dangerous to make blanket statements about performance on the basis of screened (shielded) vs unscreened or black vs white. Perhaps

Hi Jerry, Regarding any questions you have regarding the Matlab function I posted for S11 correction, if you were to post them in that original thread, I would be happy to try to answer them. Best,
