Re: characteristic impedance
Hi Yes here it is Remember to set a frequency span e.g. 0.05 to 500Mhz then calibrate and save to e.g. location 0. Then follow the steps described in the right side I see you missed that Kind regards

NanoVNA-Saver and NaNOVNA-H4 Calibration
The problem I had with the big noise in the phase chart of NanoVNA-Saver was because I was measuring the load standard I had used for calibration. The Returnloss measured after calibration was that

Re: How to find the right ferrite toroid for a receiving antenna balun?
Here's what my 2 core FT-240-K choking impedance looks like. X=0 a little above 11 MHz after which X is capacitive.

Re: Is my off brand a Brick?
The on/off switch is a good point to provide a clean 5Volt. I use the free pin of the switch to connect to 5Volt so when I switch off it connects to the battery And Yes, when running from a 5Volt

No ... that simply isn't true.? W4OP is correct for the reason he states. Whether on topic or off topic, this isn't the place to be spreading bad information. Dave?? AB7E

I agree that this topic is outside the general outlines for this list, but then again I didn't bring it up.? For anyone who would actually like to understand what makes a good common mode choke,

I have a similar problem.? When you find the answer, let me know. I replaced the 5303 with another 5303 and it's better.? My second nano needs similar repair; it won't start up with the USB

More L, more 2pifl, better reflection.

Re: How to find the right ferrite toroid for a receiving antenna balun?
I don't believe that the primary goal of a choke should be high L. Indeed if the system had a net C then the series L of the choke could make common mode worse where the L and C resonated. High
