Thanks Mike and all other comments noted. Re: tools, I have the opportunity
to learn more about radio antennas with this new tool. I have managed to calibrate it and have taken swr readings but wish to do more than that and learn in the process. Re: New user
When you download the email with you client create a folder for NanoVNA with subfolders for each subject area as you define them.

NEW: Firmware Archive Created in Files Section
Folks,
I have just uploaded 40+ versions of NanoVNA DFU files dating from May 5th through to yesterday. All the files are publicly available either here or from various user's Google Drives or archives. They are sorted according to who created them. The approximate build date is in the filename. Some of these releases have BUGS - newer ones most likely have bug-fixes and newer functions. Read the forum posts by the authors of these releases for more info. NO support will be provided by me (as the uploader) - please contact the folks that created the software. They are testing, recovery and any other use you can think of. NOTE: If you created any of these DFU files and would like me to remove them, please contact me through a PRIVATE message. Thanks, Larry |
Re: New Firmware Archive in Files section
I just realized that I named it 'New firmware...' when I meant it's a new archive of old firmware. I'll fix the meaning.
As for new firmware, anyone can add to the files area...even you. There is nothing stopping another person from creating another firmware archive folder starting from today, going forward. .... |

Trygve,
Pretty much all tools are solutions in search of a problem. At some point all of us need to pull out a voltmeter to check battery voltages or the continuity of a fuse. However; you can go an entire lifetime without ever running across the need for an oscilloscope or VNA. Some of us who are Ham's never get pass just using the nanoVNA as a bargain antenna VSWR analyzer. |

Yes, maybe. But I'd like to have the choice of selecting different subject areas o look at rather than be completely ignorant of anything I had blocked. Regards A On Mon, 30 Sep 2019, 22:24 David Webb, <kb1pvh@...> wrote:

Greetings to all of you nano vna users. I have been following the chit chat
here for the past few days since I ordered my nano. My device is due tomorrow. As I evaluate it, I shall, if appropriate, add any useful comments to this forum. Btw, I think this forum should be split as we are all getting far too many emails, in some of which we may not be interested. Can the controller split the site into different subject areas: like, batteries, firmware, software, scam suppliers, genuine suppliers, other versions of the vna, vna saver etc? Thanks A |

Same here. For me, a VNA is a tool, not a project - making anYes, me too. But for those that want to use it in a lab, things are quite different. Dave G8WRB |

years old and saw kids in the adjacent secondary school making basic circuits with bulbs and switches in the yard. I never even considered the fact that one day I would be able to have a decent test meter, a scope (which I only have basic knowledge of) AND a VNA. It is a new tool for me and I think that using one after having learned how to use it properly will help me along the way learning more about radio. I am in my mid 50's now and am still trying to gain knowledge. -- On Mon, 30 Sep 2019 at 21:49, Alan Lloyd <alanthebass37@...> wrote:

Re: NanoVNA does not want to start -solved
Mystic..... I put together a test board on the ip5306. It works for a long time at a current above 45mA. Do not forget that using ip5306, the charge current will be at the level of 1.2 amperes, taking into account the current loss in the usb cable, this will lead to an early bloating of the battery and its failure.
There is a suspicion of a partial breakdown of the smd capacitor. Assemble a test, separate board using your ip5303, and other components in its bundle. I¡¯ll clarify, I indicated the current consumption between ip5303 and nano (~ 90-110mA). Keep us informed, well, very interesting ;)) |
