The label of my back shell only says...HW Version 4.2, SN: SN:H$-xxx71290. I do not see nay mention of MS or SI. bought my unit from R&L Electronics in Sep '20. Could it be it does not contain any of these chips?
My first instinct was to try which H4 dsu file would load on it, but am concerned I might brick this very useful instrument...

I can't find 1.2.14 -- where is it?

Make sure you load the correct version of the dfu file - there is a difference between the H and H4 (2.8" and 4") versions.

Try this.. Go into Expert Settings and select Clear Config (password is 1234). Then do a Touch Cal to calibrate your touch screen. Then Save. This should restore default settings. Then try calibration (remember to reset before calibrating).

Thanks Roger , I am understand how it should work , I wish I could get a
single dot on the smiths chart . Scattered after reset and cal . It was hot
yesterday, so all day I tried to get it to work again.
It a shame just over a year old :(

Maybe I messed with expert settings?

What are the proper settings.

Did you install DFUSe demo? It installs the driver. If you are getting a

flag then you can manually update the driver by right clicking and then
pointing to the DFUse directory where the driver is located. The location is:

calibrate the NanoVNA in standalone mode without a PC connection. Remember to
Reset first. The do the SOL calibration and check for proper operation with
each cal load. on the Smith chart you should get a dot on the far left for a
short, center for 50 ohms and far right for open. My screenshots shown below.
