Android app cable question
hi all, I couldnt find in the wiki. I have a Micro-USB on my phone so
bought a Micro-USB to USB C cable from amazon and the app will not see
my nanoVNA-H (from noo).
The cable did say for data so it's not just a charge only cable.

So the issue may already have been addressed in the H4 you are receiving. If not, then in most cases you do not get the "stops at boot screen" symptom but may notice the following.
If a screen menu is brought up and pressure is applied to the right side of the case, random menu choices occur.
In that case, installing the washer should correct the problem. On my H4 you have to deliberately squeeze the right side pretty hard to notice the problem, so I haven't bothered installing the washer.

his main email inbox is kept 'clean' Using a gmail filter, all nanovna-users messages are routed to a folder, then I mute many topics, but see any new topics (at least once before muting).

With out a doubt this is the easiest flash upgrade I have made in a long

It does make a difference.
I seem to loose several IQ points once I hit a snag during new procedures.
There may be a correlation between my falling IQ and the perception of the
task. Once done my IQ seems to recover. ( Yea, right).

Hi Bill,
Have you looked over the user guides in the files section as well as reviewied the Wiki?
You're NOT using a BIN file to flash the nano - you need to use the DFU file.
Have a look at my edit of the original user guide. Everything is explained on on page 28 (My Jan 15 edit), half way down the page.

He could also subscribe to the threads he's interested in and then create email filters to move anything from the Nanovna forum into a separate mail folder for future reading.
That way, his main email inbox is kept 'clean'.

Hugen is the only firmware developer that has produced a -AA firmware. I never installed it before because of the trade-off in losing two traces for the larger font-size. I don't mind giving up a save location, so now I actually prefer the latest -AA large font version on my 2.8" NanoVNA-H. My only peeve is that the larger font sometimes obscures some screen elements.

I am using the current -AA version and it has the larger font plus four traces.
The only difference that I see between versions is the -AA version only has four save locations.
Does this apply only to Hugen firmwares? At what version did it change from 2 trace to 4 save?

The firmware is the same except the -AA firmware has a larger font-size (about the same size as used on the 4" NanoVNA-H4), The primary drawback is that in order to achieve the larger font-size only 4 save locations is available instead of five.
Originally, to achieve the same thing and also allow a Chinese character set, only two traces could be displayed which were used on CH0 for s11 measurements. Thus the -AA or Antenna Analyzer label.

hugen's official AA releases at all have a CONFIG menu.

Greatly appreciate the help! That's close enough for me. Installed. I will shut down the two traces when I don't need them. Just happy to finally have a font I can read, and love being able to have some more settings to play with!
