Re: Start/stop points for HF SWR measurement

For your second question, regarding number of points:
Note that with recent firmware, many nanovna hardware models support 401
points. It sounds like that is what you have, since you are getting 2.5kHz
steps across a 1MHz range. The actual number of points used is settable
via the menus. Which version of firmware do you have? and which model of
nanovna? (can be seen on the startup screen, or on the config->version menu
screen for more recent firmware).
Very detailed thank both of you for the help. I have a Nano VNA-H 4 version 1.0.64

Re: Running NanoVNA-App on Raspberry Pi

OK, turning off Bluetooth and WiFi didn't reduce the noise but it gave me an idea. I put a ferrite cable clamp on the USB cable close to the NanoVNA and the noise is almost gone, so it's definitely coming from the RPi.

The problem with the amplitude axis is interesting. I had allowed Wine to install the program on its virtual C: drive. If I copy the program folder from my Windows machine into the RPi's /home/pi folder and run the program from there the amplitude scale is normal.

Good find. I saw that on the Sparkfun site as well - marked as 'retired'.
Less expensive than the Sparkfun offerings.

The tools work great. One has to make sure the board was laid out so that there's room for the tool's foot to push on something.

but they really aren't designed for multiple mate/demate cycles.

Re: Where to buy "DeepVNA" (NanoVNA-F 4.3 screen aluminum enclosure}

I also use the NanoVNA-F for outdoor operation. Make sure you get the latest version with push button switches instead of the thumbwheel switch. It's a lot easier to use the push button when your hand are cold.

I bought an early 2.8" nanovna, but found it to be unusable outdoors. So then I ordered the NanoVNA-F, and it does need to be shaded, but is much more usable outside. Different Groups.IO group, though, and different firmware developer.

VNA_QT Issue

I posted this question on the nanovnav2 group. This group has a wider audience so I will ask it here.

In the past was able to connect to VNA_QT with my NanoVNA V2 Plus4. I recently tried; the VNA_QT detects the correct COM port but does not connect. I get this exception message. See attachment.

The NanoVNA V2 Plus4 works with the NanoVNA Saver 0.5.4 and NanoVNA-APP-1-1-213 applications.

The NanoVNA V2 Plus4 has software version 20220301.

Any ideas? I tried reinstalling the Cypress driver and it still does not connect

I use VNA_QT to upgrade the firmware, Is these another method of upgrading the firmware?
