Re: Replacement of damaged NanoVNA circuit board #hardware
I used Mouser PN 652-CG0603MLU-05E. All the information was in the link that I gave above. They are tiny and you need a fine tip low wattage soldering iron. Good luck

Thanks for all the good info. I apologize for getting off topic. So getting back to firmware... I've learned over the years not to toy with flashing firmware unless there is a problem that absolutely

Re: New member with a NanoVna H4
Anything other than 50Ohm j0=0 is a loss.? So trotting along the 50Ohm line is also lossy.Total impedance involves both the real and imaginary parameters. Mike W9MDB

Re: New member with a NanoVna H4
Assuming a lossless transmission line stub, the Smith Chart trace will move along the outer edge of the chart as the frequency/electrical length changes; losses bring it spiraling in from the edge.

Re: New member with a NanoVna H4
If the termination is lossy (other than 0 or ¡Þ¦¸) the result at the other end of the stub will be a lossy inductive or capacitive element. I learned this when using ¦Ë/4 stubs to bias microwave

Thank you for speedy reply. I am a complete novice in this area. I bought it to check my antenna. I usually update my devices if needed first. I am at a loss to understand all the / parameters etc and

Re: Replacement of damaged NanoVNA circuit board #hardware
If you want ESD protection on your VNA or tinySA refer to this group's thread. I ordered these ESD protection diodes and installed them in my two tinySAs and my nanoVNA. They work perfect.

Re: NanoVNA -H #nanovna-h
You may find it helpful to read "The absolute beginner's guide" which can be found in the files section of this group. It has very good basic information and details on firmware update procedures.

Re: New member with a NanoVna H4
Yes keeping in mind the termination need to be a short or open. Then as a function of length and frequency any +/- imaginary value (C or L) can be presented at the other end. Lester B Veenstra K1YCM

Lester, Sorry to scope creep on the thread but this is interesting. so you are saying that a parallel tuning stub could be open or shorted and depending on the length to termination, could be seen by

Re: New member with a NanoVna H4
Yes, you can make inductance or capacitance with a shorted or open stub, with some limitations.
