Re: NanoVNA-h4 stuck in DFU mode
If the device is in dfu mode, install the firmware you want to use. When that's done you turn it off and on and it should work. The device will remain in dfu mode until you upload usable and working

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
You need to build a proper test jig when you test components. Stray inductance and capacitance will affect your results. For S21 measurements I use a test board like the one below. You can buy NanoVNA

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
Hello, The filter is given as equivalent to a 45M15A. The characteristics give a termination of 4Kohm and 2.5 PF. I also found a more traditional test method to see.

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
Another method used by Epson to measure MCF devices is to use matching transformers to perform the 50 ohm to Zt transformation. https://www5.epsondevice.com/en/information/technical_info/filter/ This

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
Yes you have the correct procedure. Below is the test setup used by a Monolithic Crystal Filter (MCF) vendor using series resistors and a shunt capacitor to get the required termination impedance..

NanoVNA-h4 stuck in DFU mode
My NanoVNA-H4 is stuck in DFU mode. when i try to use the DFuse.exe it does not see the device connected to the computer. when i go into device management i see the STM32 Bootloader listed under USB

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
Hello, Good morning, Very interesting article. I did a translation in French. Now tell me if I¡¯m wrong about the measurement method. 1) We calibrate the NanoVna and then we measure the filter, we

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
Roger, You are correct that it does not change the actual impedance presented to the filter. However, it is possible to mathematically compute S parameters in, say, a 500 ohm system knowing the S

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
Edy555, the first NanoVNA developer, did some measurements on monolithic crystal filters like the ones Gerard is using (45R15AZ; motorola 20J26) . The article is on his website in Japanese at the link

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
I respectfully disagree with you. The Port Z feature in the latest DiSlord software only does the mathematical calculations necessary to convert the measurements to a different system impedance (like

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
Gerard, 1) The DisLord firmware should work on most any NanoVNA, clone or not. 2) I don't know if the PORT-Z feature works via NanoVNASaver. 3) 3-leged filters should work with the PORT-Z method.

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
Hello John, Thank you for your response 1) First I have to see if I can download it into my nanoVNA (Compatibility) and study how to do it. See picture probably a clone 2) Then I emulate more with a

Re: NanoVNA App - Installation and Use #applications
Thanks for the tip. I got a new display and now the screen capture works. The old display has the version 1.0 and the new display has the version 1.1.

Re: 2 poles filters teminaison impedance
Gerard, The latest DisLord firmware for the NanoVNA does allow you to see what the filter response would be with a load impedance different than 50 ohms. First perform an SOLT (short, open, load,

Re: #nanovna-saver I'm stuck #nanovna-saver
Why don't you go back to an earlier version. What does not work is to use a recent version on an old OS. I don't think it affects the drivers (what do the experts say?). Personally I went from 0.3.8

The first thing I would try is to use a new USB cable. They do wear out. And Saver, as good as it is, does not do very good error checking on returned data from the nano - it wxpects it to be
