Re: NanoVNA - saver update ? #nanovna-saver
This is the official repo: https://github.com/NanoVNA-Saver/nanovna-saver Any recent Linux distro should have the needed python modules in it's repositories so there is no need for pip.

Update original nanoVNA
I recently needed the TDR feature for a project and so decided to upgrade the original firmware in my nanoVNA to something more current. I removed it from the 3D printed case I had made and verified

Re: Antenna Tuner with NanoVNA incorporated.
The antenna tuner in chapter 9 of ¡°Microcomputer Projects for Amateur Radio¡± does just this with a DDS and a resistive bridge. Gary W9TD

Since I did not want to delete the entire message and I do not see "edit" Here is a ADDENDUM. The only difference between "then" and now is "python3.9" - NOT 3.7 I am not sure why "coders" do not

NanoVNA - saver update ? #nanovna-saver
When I received my hardware I downloaded and had running "nanoVNA-saver" as expected. That was several versions of my OS - Ubuntu - ago. Now I am on 21.04 , following same "git - hub" download

Re: VNA shootout
A while back I had a go at dumping out a full 2 port model of a VHF BPF using the nanovna and also a lab VNA to see how the results compared. Although this only tested up at VHF I thought the results

DFU updating #dfu
OK, I can read several "how to..." , watch "u-tube " - rather not waste my time there... OR I can plug it in ( it works better that way) and push series of self -explanatory buttons UNTIL I get (you

Re: Antenna Tuner with NanoVNA incorporated.
I was thinking a MANUAL QRP Tuner for the education. 1) You can readily see the effects of varying the capacitance and inductance on the Smith Chart, so it's an education. 2) Since you are using the

Antenna Tuner with NanoVNA incorporated.
Has anyone built and packaged a simple manual L/C QRP Antenna Tuner (stand alone) which incorporates the NanoVNA in the hardware ? The NanoVNAs are relatively inexpensive and readily

Re: impedance test of a TV antenna, How do I adjust 50 ohm to 75 ohm
Truly..? These will revolutionize ham radio and RF education as well as lots of RF labs.? 10 years from now there will be whole sections in the ARRL handbook and Antenna book about how to

If these NANOVNAs get any more capable, you guys will have to raise the price !!???? But, please don't as it's a wonderful tool and highly educational for those who are yet unfamiliar with the

Re: impedance test of a TV antenna, How do I adjust 50 ohm to 75 ohm
Hello John, I have made a web page with a English translation of the ojisan web page, see: https://www.rudiswiki.de/wiki9/nanoVNA-V2-ojisanFirmware I have also compiled a version to allowv a screensho

Re: impedance test of a TV antenna, How do I adjust 50 ohm to 75 ohm
The Ojisan firmware for the V2 allows re-normalization of the Smith chart, Return Loss, and VSWR to arbitrary real reference impedances. The calibration is still done with a 50 ohm load, but the

Re: impedance test of a TV antenna, How do I adjust 50 ohm to 75 ohm
You would need a 75 ohm terminator at the input of the VNA. John

The current NanoVNA-F, NanoVNA-H and NanoVNA-H4 firmware do not have this feature in the menu. I don't own any V2 products so I can't comment on them. Roger

Re: impedance test of a TV antenna, How do I adjust 50 ohm to 75 ohm
If you are only interested in measuring the impedance of the antenna, then just use the 50 ohm cal kit on the end of the 50 ohm coax. The cal kit will remove the effects of the cable. Just be aware

Re: impedance test of a TV antenna, How do I adjust 50 ohm to 75 ohm
Calibrating a NanoVNA using a 75 ohm load instead of 50 ohms does NOT make the NanoVNA into a 75 ohm test instrument. Some VNA do allow you to set the system impedance to other than 50 ohms. The

Gert, I have to correct a misconception there. Half turns, or quarter turns, do not exist! Two-hole cores do NOT allow making half turns. At least not in the magnetic sense. Two-hole cores behave very
