Tony, that's interesting, I don't have a "CONNECTION" menu item anywhere in my menu system. I rechecked it this morning to make certain I hadn't missed something. On the back of my H4, I see a HW version: 4.2 Don, W3DRM Hi Don, |

Sorry, being new to posting on groups.io, I didn't include sufficient info to distinguish the specific version this structure map was made from.
As one of the posters answered, the map was created from the NanoVNA-H4 using DiSlord's release version 1.0.45. Next time, I'll be a bit more careful when posting. Also, too bad there is a way to edit posts so corrections can be made... |

Hi Don,
first of all thanks for the really useful work! I have an H4, firmware 1.0.45. In my unit, at the HOME menu, tapping CONFIG, before the voice VERSION i see the voice CONNECTION which leads to two other menu, Output config. and Speed config. Thanks, Tony, I0RKV |
Re: Firmware updates.
Roger - the larger font is only on the H. The H4's font in unchanged.

Larry, Have you compared the DisLord and Hugen firmware version 1.0.45 on a -H4?? Apparently the Hugen version uses larger font sizes but I don't know if that is the case on the -H4. It's for DiSlord's release 1.0.45 for the H4

The H4 does not have a soft key to place the device into DFU mode like the H version has - the operator just needs to hold the jog sw in and power-on the device for that mode. On Friday, March 5, 2021, 7:32:46 a.m. EST, DougVL <k8rftradio@...> wrote:

You have the latest firmware loaded to your copy of the H4, hence the different menu structure.
It is actually a very nice version of firmware as it implements new handy features and work very well. Welcome to the NanoVNA world! Be ready to spend an enormous amount of time with it, it is quite addictive :-) |
Re: Firmware updates.
Hi Roger,
I'll have a look at the source on Fri. ?I finally got DiSlord's H4 1.0.48 code to compile today. I'll see how the fonts look. I .did. load Hugen's code on my 2.8" unit last week but didn't like it so I loaded DiSlord's 1.0.48 on it.? ... Re: Firmware updates.
Guys,
I have done firmware updates for many different devices over the year since flash chips became mainstream. Once you get your ducks in a row the Nana/Tiny updates are among the easiest ever. There really isn't any reason NOT to do it and very good reasons TO do it. 73 -Jim NU0C On Thu, 4 Mar 2021 20:18:27 +0000 (UTC) "Larry Rothman" <nlroth@...> wrote: That's not the way to think about it, Charlie! |

New NanaVNA-H4 User
#nanovna-h4
I just received my NanoVNA-H4 from R & L Electronics. I haven't even had time to do any testing of it as yet but did want to post my thoughts on this new unit. First of all, it appears to be very well built. I've attached photo I took of the Version screen. I noticed right away that the menu structure map included in the box does not match what I am seeing on my new NanoVNA-H4. So, I put together my own version of the menu structure and have uploaded that to the forum under the files section. It's titled "/g/nanovna-users/files/NanoVNA%20Menu%20Structure%20Map-x.pdf".
Other than what I have read on this forum and the many videos about the NanoVNA, I am a complete newbie in this arena. I have a lot of learning ahead of me but am looking forward to the day I have gained some proficiency on this device. 73's to all... W3DRM |
