Much ado about nothing: simply slacken the case screws a little to relieve the pressure on the display, and the problem will disappear.
Mine was working fine when I got about (about three weeks ago), but froze after I reassembled it after cutting away the excess plastic at the USB socket. It took me a couple of minutes to diagnose the problem, and ten seconds to solve it. You don't need a new case or major surgery on it.
