Something not adding up. How can a radio station would know if there is a problem with the AM transmitter?? Seems like there would be alarms going off. On Tue, Feb 13, 2024 at 9:07?AM Dave Kjellquist, WB5NHL <dave@...> wrote: Arthur Ruditzky found this.....truly unbelievable |
There was discussion on another reflector that they weren't transmitting on AM. That they were just using the AM license to fill a FCC requirement to operate an FM translator from that class of station the licensed station was? transmitting on AM (even though they were not). Since they weren't actually operating on AM they didn't know their tower was gone. I didn't follow that thread far enough to learn how the FM translator was operating. I'm not up on the legal end, just passing along what I understood others saying about the situation. Kevan N4XL? On Mon, Feb 26, 2024, 2:31 PM Rodney Tanner, WM4RT <wm4rt.hamradio@...> wrote:

A YouTuber has a video up that does an 'investigation', with a 21 minute video that is the raw video of visiting the supposed AM site.? He watched the Geerling Engineering video on it, and the father calls out the same issues - no alarms, and ZERO calls from listeners? Videos: - 16:38 'investigative' style video - 21:42 raw video of transmitter site. - The location seen in Google Maps aerial matches the building seen in the video. (clicking on the link in the site opens a new window/tab for Google Maps).? Using Google Earth, Historical Imagery, the image from Google Maps is from April 2022.
