**2024 Recap**


 

On behalf of the officers and directors of NABRC we want to wish club members a joyous holiday and happy new year for 2025. Below is a summary of 2024. Please take the time next month to renew your membership so that we may continue these efforts and add others. BUT more importantly please come to monthly club meetings and participate in events during the year.
Key NABRC happenings (no particular order):
  • ARRL renewed recognition as a Special Services Club
  • Continued support of award winning Schofield Middle School radio & technology club
  • Community outreach participation in Science Education Enrichment Day (SEED)
  • Community service in Run United race support
  • ARRL Field Day class 2A including a Get-On-The-Air station
  • ARRL Winter Field Day at KN4OQD business location
  • Meeting demonstrations of Hamdash software and Meshtastic radios
  • NABRC ARES members manned the Aiken EOC radio during Hurricane Helene
  • Two members were recipients of college scholarships
  • Club member, N2ZZ was reelected ARRL Roanoke Director
  • Club purchased QSL cards and a large banner
  • Sad news that member Mike McMahon, W4UNK became an SK
