K4FKJ (SK) Garage Sale

Edited

Hi all, thank you to everyone who has purchased something from my late grandfather's collection. I am unfortunately not going to be able to save the collection in the garage for much longer as I need space for other activities. The displayed prices have already been marked down by 50% off of the original asking price to provide an incentive to come check out the collection or revisit it and take it (hopefully all) off of my hands.?
?
If I had a separate space to store it, I wouldn't mind sitting on it for a while, but alas- eBay is a pain, and I just don't have much time outside of work to meet with folks. So, here's the deal- I will avail myself next Saturday, August 17, 2024 to meet with anyone who is interested at my address. First come, first serve-no holds without a PayPal Payment. Anyone who makes a purchase can help themselves to the tubes/wires. I'm in North Augusta, SC. I will gladly share my address in a private message, or by phone.?

If you would like an item held, or would like it shipped (shipping is extra), please provide the alphanumeric code preceding the item so I can put my hands on it quickly. Sold items are marked "SOLD" on the items that are no longer available.?
?
Also-
I have been updating this list everyday, which I understand sends a new message every time. So to avoid filling your inbox with updates, I found a way to link to my spreadsheet so you can always view the most up-to-date version. Link is below:?

SK Sale - pick up in North Augusta

Hi all- I am K4FKJ 's ("Dick" Schoenfelder's) grandson.?
?
He passed away 3 weeks ago, and I have been tasked with liquidating his ham radio collection. I was always his tech guy, when it came to his computer, or Amazon fire stick, and kept his home in top shape, but I was never privy to the HAM side of things. One of the things that fascinated me as a young man was riding shotgun with him while he had his Bencher going to work on the console of his truck, and the ability to transcribe whatever message came back in Morse code. I was a pretty smart kid, but even I could not wrap my head around at all.
?
In all of my research, a majority of what filled his garage is now considered a "boat anchor", but for the items he kept in his home- I am certain they have value.? What I am setting out to do is to offer the good items as a bundle here before selling off the equipment piece by piece on eBay, as I don't want the headache of shipping If I can avoid it.?
?
All of the equipment with the exception of the Sattcon 05 has been tested and operates, or otherwise appears to be new in the box.
The equipment in the bundle includes:?
?
SGC MAC-200
Amcomm BSM-15C
Kenwood TS-2000
Diamond Antenna SX-100
Kenwood SP-23
Astron RS-35A
Bencher BY-1
Recency ACT-R10
Heil GM4 Goldline Mic and stand
Kenwood HS-4 Headphones?
Kenwood TM-261A
Sattcon 05- (lcd screen appears to be busted, not sure of shape of unit)?
Yaesu FT-2800M
All cables, and cords have been kept with the respective equipment, and will be included. There are also a few handheld units that are included.??
Asking $3000 obo.?
?
Must pick up in North Augusta, SC.
?
?
He also has a tower that will need to come down. This was passed on to me by a member of the local radio club to post here.?
------
Tower, rotor, controller and antennas of K4FKJ (SK)
?
Tower consists of several Rohn 45 sections as a base with a custom mount at top which is bolted to a custom hinge which holds a length of several Rohn 25 sections.
?
The 25 sections are counterweighted and can be hinged over to allow antenna work on the ground.?
?
You have to take it down, which may involve working on rooftop. You must have proper safety belt, etc. Price = FREE
------
I can provide photos of the tower and home if requested.?

Interested in Morse Code?

An ezine I subscribe to has a very good article on morse code operating this month. If you have ever thought about becoming more proficient in the Morse language you would find it interesting. The article is "Conversational Morse" and the ezine is "K9YA_Telegraph". As usual, there are several interesting articles each month.
