What repeater is going to be used?

I had asked for MM 3 and could work MM 12 after all runners are past 3 if you are short volunteers.

2024 Run United Half Marathon Update

First does any one have a good contact for KO4YKK Winston Matson?? The email I have for him is not working.

Dear Radio Operators,

?

Sorry about the delay in getting this out.? Thank you for taking time out of your Saturday to help with this great event.

If you still want to volunteer we have a couple of open slots.

?

We have the bags and information for the Run United race next Saturday April 27.? We currently have 14 operators signed up. We are going to need people with good antennas at stations 10, 5, & 9.? This is where the signal is the weakest on the course.? Please let me know if you think your radio has the power and antenna to get a signal from these locations.? ?

?

Bag pick up will be Thursday morning from 9:00 am-12:30pm?at the USC Aiken Student Center connected to the Starbucks on campus. If you call me I can meet you outside (706-631-5645).? If you need another time, please let me know.? KM4TWA and KO4AAP I will drop yours off at your work on Monday.

?

Friday 4/26/24?5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Newberry St. Festival area Checking out the Area they have assigned to our Net Control Station. They are providing a table two chairs and a popup cover.? We will have access to power and will be in a location that is not in front of the speakers so that we are able to hear.? Currently we are not sure if this will be in front of Newberry Hall or across the street.

?

We have only one request for a specific area MM 4 & 11.? If you think you might need to leave early, please let me know and we will assign you one of the early mile markers.

?

We need to operators at all the mile markers, the start/finish line and net control.? If you want to work net control let me know. You will have to be there at 5:30 am.? All other volunteers please be there between 6-6:30 am.? ??

?

It is highly recommended that you bring your own chair to seat in.? Last year there was a shortage of chairs available for those out on the course.? We also recommend you bring sunscreen, bug spray, head cover and something to drink.

?

DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR ON PARK ST between Laurens St and Kershaw St.? Runners will be lining up and starting the race on Park St.

?

Saturday 4/27/24?

?

5:30 am Setup NCS at assigned location.? Equipment can be unloaded in at the location as long as the vehicle is moved by 6 am.

?

6:00 am Breakfast provided for all volunteers at Newberry Hall.
