Why not have all of us donate our issue of QST & CQ to the schools. After we receive them we can donate them. I finish reading mine in a week and I also have the electronic version available after the fact.?

I hope the books discussion will also consider donations to every/most middle/high school(s) in the county.?
Also, when I was a kid the public library in Savannah even had a subscription to QST and kept the back issues available on the shelf. Could we do this for the major libraries?
Unfortunately, I will not be there to comment on this at the meeting (I don't drive that far after dark unless an emergency).

NABRC shirts - LAST CHANCE TO ORDER
I will take final orders at the Feb 13 NABRC meeting. To date there has been VERY limited interest.
These shirts are "tan" color though the exact definition of "tan" varies with manufacture. The shirts include a breast pocket on the left side with the embordered NABRC logo above the pocket. On the right side is your name and callsign. Shirts are available in both long sleeve and short sleeve. As noted, color may not match between the long sleeve and short sleeve. The shirts are sold and embroidered by the local Aiken company. Embroider This. This is the same company we have used before. Shirt quality and embroidery are excellent. Prices below include the shirt, embroidery and sales tax. ? ? ? Size? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Long Sleeve? ? ? ? ? ?Short Sleeve S-XL? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? 43.72? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? 34.00 XXL? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? 45.88? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? 36.16 3XL? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? 52.33? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?38.32 4XL? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?54.52? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? 40.49 5XL? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?55.60? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?53.45 6XL? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?57.76? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?55.60 As with previous orders, the club does NOT need your money up front, but rather the commitment to pay when the shirts are delivered. NABRC is NOT profiting from these shirts but rather is selling them and funding the order as a service to club members To order a shirt I prefer you contact me at a meeting with your long or short sleeve request, size, name and callsign info., Alternately, I will take your email at?club.nabrc@.... Email me at the club email or post any questions. I will take orders until the Feb 13 club meeting in Aiken. After which I will place the order. -- Dave,? WB5NHL Treasurer,? NABRC |
Re: HF Net list
I've always relied on the ARRL Net Directory, which includes ALL TYPES OF NETS, not just "rag chew" nets.? Of course, I was heavily involved with NTS and ARPSC, so the Net Directory was a kinda bible to me for where to go next.
Thanks for posting the list, hope others find it useful. 73, Stay safe, Steve |

NASA System Predicts Small Asteroid to Pass Close by Earth Tomorrow Night
Asteroid 2023 BU is about the size of a box truck and is predicted to make one of the closest approaches by a near-Earth object ever recorded.
?
On Thursday, Jan. 26, a small near-Earth asteroid will have a very close encounter with our planet. Designated 2023 BU, the asteroid will zoom over the southern tip of South America at about 4:27 p.m. PST (7:27 p.m. EST) only 2,200 miles (3,600 kilometers) above the planet¡¯s surface and well within the orbit of geosynchronous satellites.
?
There is no risk of the asteroid impacting Earth. But even if it did, this small asteroid ¨C estimated to be 11.5 to 28 feet (3.5 to 8.5 meters) across ¨C would turn into a fireball and largely disintegrate harmlessly in the atmosphere, with some of the bigger debris potentially falling as small meteorites.
?
The asteroid was discovered by amateur astronomer Gennadiy Borisov, discoverer of the interstellar comet 2I/Borisov, from his MARGO observatory in Nauchnyi, Crimea, on Saturday, Jan. 21. Additional observations were reported to the Minor Planet Center (MPC) ¨C the internationally recognized clearinghouse for the position measurements of small celestial bodies ¨C and the data was then automatically posted to the Near-Earth Object Confirmation Page. After sufficient observations were collected, the MPC announced the discovery. Within three days, a number of observatories around the world had made dozens of observations, helping astronomers better refine 2023 BU¡¯s orbit.
