Two simultaneous radios with QUISK ?

Hi group,

Just setting up my Hermes-Lite V2 build 8. I do not have the "official" cabinet but using an old box which originally contained Softrock SDR (both RX and TX).? I have removed all TX parts except the LPF bank but I am considering to leave the Softrock RX as it is and install HL2 aside.

My question: Is it possible/feasible to have two instances of QUISK simultaneously, one for HL2 and another for Softrock RX ?Another possibility would be to run Softrock with other SW like HDSDR. Anyways, I would like to have a completely independent monitoring receiver which I have been missing ever since I started to use transceivers instead of a separate RX and TX.

Hello Heikki,

There is no problem running two copies of Quisk. Just set up two "radios" in Quisk on the Config/Radios screen.

Hello Heiki,

I sometime have upt o 3 instances of QUISK running, they are all hermes servers but I do not see why it would not work with the SoftRock+Hermes

Regards
Peter?

Hi Peter/Jim,

It took me some time to prepare my 2nd HL2 (build 8) for testing but now I am quite ready ! It seems that when running two HL2 simultaneously in the same network, they should receive unique IP?s from the DHCP server in the QUISK startup. I wonder if it is sufficient to first name each HL2 board as a "radio" (HL2_nr1, HL2_nr2 etc.) and thereafter, in their ConfigScreens, specify the board number( 1, 2? etc.). I may not need this normally but it would be nice to have an option for some special situations.
