How to Use FreeDV RADE Mode with Quisk

 

The new FreeDV RADE mode is an exciting development in digital voice, but it is not yet built into Quisk. But you can use the FreeDV-GUI program with Quisk to get it. I have written a short paper to make this easier. Let me know what you think.

Hi Jim,
I tried today on my windows setup (4.2.41 ) with a VB-Audio Cable , but that doesn't work properly. Nothing received in Digital mode, and a very bad sound on Analog mode.?
I have to wait you could includ rade mode into Quisk.

I have used the freedv app with other radios, but not with quisk (because it was built in :) ).?

I'll have to see if I can get some local friends to try the new RADE mode one of these days.

hi,

I am trying to configure FreeDV with QUISK but till now not very successfull.
Main problem are the hamlib settings for PTT.
As rig I have selected Hamlib NET ctl
I am using FreeDV 2.0.0-dev2, Windows 11 and for the audio VBcable (as Virtual Audio Cable)
QUISK 4.2.40 and the Hermes Lite 2
I created a new radio called FreeDV and in this radio I have configured:
Digital Tx0 Input????????? CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)
Digital Rx0 Output?????? CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)

Normally the system is working very well, I am very happy with QUISK, great software!

For Hamlib NET be sure to set the "port" to localhost:4532. This is the hostname and port number.

PTT and frequency sync is wprking, still trouble withvthe audio.
Enjoy your ski trip.
