How to widen ssb transmission bandwidth

Trying to figure out how to widen the transmit bandwidth in side band. ?Currently looking at it on another sdr panadapter it¡¯s only 2.7 ish khz wide. ?I would like to go out to at least 3khz and possibly 4 for essb. ?Using an external eq i can clip all the higher frequencies. ?Just cannot figure out where to change the bandwidth.?

thank you

Hello Ryan,

There is no option to adjust Tx bandwidth. Using an external equalizer to limit high frequencies will not work. The Quisk speech processing will widen the bandwidth even if highs are not present. Bandwidth must be limited after speech processing.

Jim,

Thank you for the response. ?That is unfortunate as having the nr2 option in quisk is what brought me back to it. ?Nr2 is work perfect btw compared side by side with thetis. ?There is no option to edit the transmission bandwidth outside of the user interface? ?Like a simple configuration file?

thanks

Hello Ryan,

The filtering is built into the speech processing. There are two stages and it all happens at 8 ksps to save processor time. So I can't increase to 4000 Hz bandwidth anyway. Maybe a little, but then everything needs a redesign. All filters are optimized Parks-McClellan. Code is in C.

Jim,

Thank you for the explanation. ?I know its not a priority and my never happen but having the transmitter bandwidth adjustable at least out to 3k with the low end at 50 hz would be awesome. ?The audio reports over the weekend running 500 watts and using easy effects were very good. ?The essb guys even commented on how good it sounded even being so narrow by comparison. ?Out to at least 3k I would use 99 percent of the time. ?

I am having a lot of fun on linux right now. ?One thing that kept me from playing with the peaberry was being spoiled by the nr2 noise reduction in thetis and the noise reduction in my picastar. ?Now that it¡¯s in quisk my cheap peaberry is a joy to use.

thanks?
