Peaberry SDR and quisk no transmitter output

I have quisk running on an old laptop running linux mint 21.? I have a peaberry (now omnia) radio setup working nicely in receive.? Audio sounds good no dropout or anything.? Problem is I cannot get anything out in transmit.? Currently just using the spot button.? I have been trying for a few days now and searching for an answer.? I had this working years ago with quisk on SSB with a rasberry PI 3B but I am at a loss as to where to go from here.? If somebody can help let me know what information I need to provide.? I am not sure what the errors section in the status window is for but for I/Q TX sample output it continues to count up during recieve when everything else is 0.

Thank you

Hi Ryan,

Have you checked that the PA is enabled in the hardware settings?

Graeme,

i do not remember a setting for that I have been through them now so many times??¡á?. ?I will look again. ?Any hints where that setting is? ?

When I hit ptt or spot the relay for my external amp closes so I believe the transmitter is enabled. ?I changed the sound settings briefly and can hear the tone generated too. ?It¡¯s as if nothing is being sent back to the peaberry. ?Still curious as to what the errors are on the screen showing the connected sound cards.

I was going to test the PA on the bench with my desktop pc running windows to make sure the drivers are not blown for some reason. ?My desktop computer has windows 10 and used to use powersdr with the peaberry but the driver for its internal sound card windows won¡¯t let me update. ?

Hello Ryan,

Our time zones have delayed my reply sorry. Go to Menu/your radio/Hardware. On the RHS half way down is the setting "Enable power amp" which should be set to "True".

Hopefully this will be the problem for you.

Graeme,

No problem with the time zone. Appreciate the help I am not in a desperate rush! ? I do not see the pa option. ?Please see attached photo. ?

Ahh OK you are using Quisk Ctl-head. The setting needs to be made on Quisk-remote, the Ctl-head will inherit this.

Just another thought, you may need to make this setting while HL2 is the hardware file, then switch to Ben's remote hardware file - going from memory here, Graeme.

Graeme,

I am not running remote on this. ?Maybe in the future. ?Don¡¯t have a hl2 just the peaberry which is essentially a softrock with a built in sound card. ?Your saying open hl2 enable transmit and revert back to the softrock configuration? ?A little confused.

By the way I do have a hermes 16bit board but currently thats on thetis. ?

Just an update

Installed quisk on my desktop running dual boot with the same linux mint version as the laptop.? Connect the peaberry set everything up and I get 1 watt output at full drive which is what it should.? There are no errors in the audio.? So now I am kinda stuck where to go from here.? I guess this is not technically a quisk or peaberry issue but something with ALSA on the laptop?? I am certainly not a heavy linux user so if anyone has any ideas?? I tried re installing quisk and tried an earlier version on the laptop no luck.? The desktop has the latest version of quisk.?

Sorry Ryan,

I have been leading you up the garden path. I missed that it is a Peaberry that you are using not a Hermes-Lite2 which all my remarks applied too so forget what I said and sorry for the misinformation. I guess that I shouldn't work from my mobile phone at 1 am when I am tired hi.

No problem! ?I have done it too. ?Hopefully someone with some possible heavy linux experience can chime in.
