Derwent entry and class association membership

开云体育

Hi all,

Entry for the Derwent Reservoir event is now open.? There was talk from the club a few days ago of a cap on entries so if you're going I'd advise entering sooner rather than later.?

It's the first event of the Northern Series.? To take part in the series or in any class training that we'll be organising you need to be a member of the UK 29er class association. Membership is now on a rolling 12 month basis so if you join now that will take you through to after your sailors last nationals.? In the past it would run out at the end of December and so there was a reason for not joining straight away unless doing the Rutland GP but that's now gone.

Please join up!!? We've had a lot of help from the class financially from the last couple of committees.? They paid for Niall Myant-Best to come up and do a training camp at Tummel two years ago which was fantastic and were going to fund transition coaching at Tummel Week last year so we definitely get a return.? If we can find a club and a weekend that suits Niall will come up again.?

More importantly I reckon we'll also have at least 30+ Scottish members this coming year and that helps to make the case for having a good proportion of the events as accessible as possible for northern sailors.? We've also got the nationals next summer in Largs and again if we can show big increases in memberships it helps us to justify the class's decision to have either a nationals/youths or GP in Scotland every year.??
