Summer 2020 update
开云体育Hi all, Firstly big welcome to the newcomers we've got this year that have already bought boats.? We should be getting into double figures for events which is great!! Spoke to RYAS and
they're confirming that kids from the same club can now sail a
29er together.? What RYAS or the 29er class can't organise is an
event where sailors from different clubs come together.? Matt
reckons that might change when we get to stage 4 but that
certainly won't be before the end of the month.? They said under current rules it's got to be under the control of the club itself and approved by the club's Covid officer.? The interesting point was that Matt reckoned guidance did allow for rescuing 29ers by putting 29er wings on the sponsons, I thought problem was only mast head help and only towing on a long line which will never work with a 29er.? But there's some clauses that allow for more direct help. So of anyone's struggling at their club with protocols? let me know or speak to RYAS. Hopefully come August we'll get some class training organised for the transition boats, RYAS also keen to set up academies as soon as they get the go ahead. Cheers Bear PS Still need a volunteer to come on the class committee with me.

开云体育Hi BearBrilliant news - is there something in writing from RYAS to confirm for the clubs? Colin Scott On 17 Jul 2020, at 21:45, Bear <david@...> wrote:

开云体育Nothing in writing but Matt at RYAS had a youth classes zoom call
with a few parents last night and said that as soon as he can find
club willing to host he'll organise 29er training weekends.? We
reckon there's a few clubs that are getting closer to that but for
quite understandable reasons they're taking small steps just now.
The class will also be looking to hold training sessions, again
once clubs are willing to host.? If anyone's interested in hosting
at their club and reckon they can get say 3 boats to come along
get in touch and we can organise coaches etc.?? So far we've got 4 rookie boats starting this autumn with
potentially at least another couple of boats keen to start so if
you're thinking about it and need info on helms and crews that are
maybe looking to pair up get in touch with me.? I've got a list of
10 sailors at the moment that are really keen to have a taster
sessions so we'll do these as soon as we can! ?? With the 4 new rookie boats and the 7-8 regular boats still
sailing this coming year we should be hitting double figures which
would be great. Bear On 18/07/2020 06:39, Colin wrote:

开云体育Hi Bear,Thanks for the update. Theo & Eilish are really keen to continue training with you next season With them being at different clubs and neither has allowed them to sail together, it looks unlikely they would host a collection of boats at the moment. They are so keen to get going again, but then aren’t we all! Take care, Emma & Gregor Stewart? On 23 Jul 2020, at 22:40, Bear <david@...> wrote:
