Plans have changed
somewhat!
I don't think we're
now doing the academy at the start, the couple of boats I
thought might go aren't now and so without a couple of definite
it's probably not going to happen.? The final decision will
probably be made after transition weekend - see what takers are
there.? We'll organise some weekends to suit newbies from late
August on in place of that academy.
Tummel Week itself.
There's not going to be any coaching now.? The club is wanting
to keep it as a fun family sailing week and their feeling was
that having formal coaching didn't fit in with the ethos of the
week.?
The thought is still
to have at least one class boat there for potential new kids
doing the week to try out 29ering in.? Ideally if some of our
gang can take them out for first few goes to start them off and
get them a wee bit up the learning curve. Hopefully by the end
the newbies will be able to sail together.? Or if our gang are
an odd number they can sail with them for the week maybe?
We can have a chat
this weekend.

Hi all
What about just making the?Academy that weekend a normal one for our gang? That way they’d still get some training in.?It could concentrate on Nationals preparation and boat fettling.
And maybe there would be?some prep for Tummel Week that?we parents could help the club with?
During Tummel Week itself would it?still be possible to have the 29ers out for informal?sailing combined with newbie try-outs outwith the organized race times?
See some of you at N. Berwick tomorrow.
Susan
P.S. Another thing to talk about tomorrow?is Nationals coach support - class offering has 6 places left with Niall Myant at ?150 per boat (10 boats in group which is quite a lot). If we all want to do this we probably need to get in there quickly before
these places go.
Or is RYA Scotland likely to help with support or do people want to organize something privately?
