Subject: [n29ers] Hot food options for Largs this weekend

Hi all,

Arranged with Julia at Largs to have some hot food options for sailors that will be available to order and pay for via me on Saturday morning.

The bar will be open for normal food orders, toasties, baked potatoes etc during the day but if everyone orders for all the 22 sailors at midday at the bar it could take a while to get food actually out to them all and you'd need to take it downstairs etc.

I've done a google sheet, either fill it in just now or you can do on Saturday am when you pay me but please bring the correct change because I won't have any!? Will need a couple of volunteers to help distribute food etc.? If we can order and pay for both days on Saturday AM that would be great.

Bear.

PS I've not got email for Matthew George and Tess Crooks in 420 fleet so can you let them know Fiona please.

Info from Julia.:-

Hi David

Okay, I’ve spoken to Bosuns and we’ll do something similar to what we did for the Toppers on Sunday….

Pre-order forms ready for you to pass round the parents and if you collect the cash that keeps the cost down.

Can I suggest we collect for both days on Saturday morning and that’s it done then for the weekend?

Soup???????????? ???????????????????2 per head? ???(?4 for both days)??????????????????????? -?? I’ll find out the soup on Saturday morning

Sandwich?????? ????????????????2 per head??? (?4 ?for both days)???????????????????????? - Brown or white bread.?? Ham, cheese or tuna

Pasta????????????????????????????? ?2 per head??? (?4 for both days)???????????? ????????????- tomato based pasta, suitable for vege’s

Any combination of the above as long as ordered upfront that morning.

We’ll throw in diluting juice but snack bars etc will need to be purchased separately. And I need to know about any gluten-free diets….

And I will need parents to help distribute this to keep the prices down.

?

The bar will be open from 9.30am for hot rolls, coffees, etc, selling toasties and baked potatoes at lunchtime.

?

On Sunday we have our club AGM so the Lounge will be shut to non-members from 3pm so your parents will need to move to the Hems Kalsi room, I’m afraid, and the bar will close.

We have a vending machine for hot drinks on the landing upstairs, along with an honesty box for crisps and snacks.

?

See you Saturday

Julia

Re: Sailing at Tay 16/17th November

Hi Bear,

Eoghan and Seb will be there. They can test Eoghan's taping and Mark's sewing on the mainsail ?. Think they'll be up for both days.

Hi Bear,

?

BBQ sounds good depending on the weather.?

If Anna is stuck for a lift we could drop off and pick up but it's a bit out of our way as we'd be coming off the M8 at Paisley to get to my mum's. If someone else is going closer that might be better but we can do it if not.

Anyone that fancies joining in can bring food or just do Tesco run in the afternoon if weather suitable.

Also is anyone coming back along the M8 on Sunday morning that could give Anna a lift?? There's no trains out of Glasgow on a Sunday morning and she's hoping to go to Grouse ceilidh on Saturday night.? She's three blocks off the M8 at Jn16? - G4 0DL.? Probably ideally on Saturday after sailing as well and then at least you'd know where meeting on Sunday I guess.

Hi n29ers folks

I think we’re going to leave the N29ers list. ?(Bear could you make that happen please)

Harris has started at Strathclyde Uni (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering - so it hasn’t all been wasted!) and already sailing yachts there. ?

Rowan is doing her Highers. ?She’s been sailing as foredeck crew on Robin Angus’s 707 over the last 5 months or so, and hence that is her sailing focus. ?

So I think we’ll have to say farewell to n29ers.

Good luck to you all?

Happy sailing
